Says it’s compatible with arkanoid

Shouldn’t this label have a V & H ?
Instead of the 2 V’s ?

Isnt yellow the normal sync Wire colour..
Looks like separate h sync & v sync

Anyway.. you may need to link a wire
Across to the other sync white wire for
The other V sync.
Sorry for the stupid question but what is the difference between the yellow V wire and the white H/C wire?

Neither of your yellow wires are connected to anything.

I don’t think the yellow wires are actually needed. However, it looks like your white (sync) wire might be going to the EGA input on the monitor rather than the CGA input.

Edit: Just looked at the picture of the connector to your monitor again. Looks like the yellow might actually be the sync so I think Lurch666 is right. Looks like the one of the yellow wires (that goes to the CGA input) needs to be connected to the white wire on your original harness.

So I need to connect my original white wire from to the new yellow connector of the LCD monitor and splice it over both V pinouts?

Is It necessary to connect it also to the new white wire like it is connected today?

Yep correct .. if yellow is the sync ( rather than GND as indicated by the monitor label!)

If that don’t work swap the daisy chain
To the white monitor sync input wires.
Good luck.

Who makes these labels for these monitors. Might as well be in morse code.

Yes, connect your original white wire (sync) to the yellow wire which you marked. The new white wire on your harness which goes to the monitor is left unconnected as that looks like it’s going to the Horizontal sync and is not needed.

You might need to also move the black ground wire as well if the GND connector pins in your monitor are not tied.

To confirm the two wires I am taking about are marked on your photo below:-

Recap:
My original white wire is connected to (H/S) on my Crt monitor chassis.

This original white wire is connected with the new LCD monitor white wire to H/C on the LCD.

I need to use my original white wire and connect it to both new yellow wires and my old ground wire to both new ground wires?

Does anyone know if the original PCB works OK on this monitor, thought problem was only with boots

This is the connector of the crt chassis and I will not use this monitor for the Arkanoid project.

For Arkanoid I will use the LCD monitor.
Yes. But have you tried those sync connectors next to the rgb to see if the problem your having changed ?

The two diffrent horizontal & vertical
Sync connection on your lcd & crt monitors are offering different sync options.

Have you tried them ?

There seems to be a bit of confusion on this thread.

Toineke is just testing his Arkanoid pcbs on the LCD monitor, he’s not using his CRT for this test.

Arkanoid pcbs (and I believe the bootlegs as well) output V-composite sync. Just connect your original white sync wire (assuming it’s connected directly the arkanoid pcb) and connect the other end to the V CGA input (not the EGA) on the monitor.
Make sure that the Black (video Ground), R=Red, G=Green, B=Blue are also connected to the CGA side.

Test it and report back.

After holiday and work found some time to work on this project. LCD screen is working perfect with Arkanoid 2 and the 2 bootlegs. 😅

New problem is my spinner.
Bought a new jamma harness and connected this spinner to following wires:
Left
Right
Ground
5v on power supply unit.

I can only turn right.

What did you do to get the monitor to display properly?

When you say you connected left and right do you mean left and right on the jamma harness because those should be wired to a joystick.
Maybe the jamma adaptor you are using has different pins for the spinner left/right outputs?

I do not use an adapter because I use a Revenge of doh pcb which is jamma.

Left and right are indeed connected to the jamma harness.

Didn't know that.
Check the connections between the spinner and the adapter and if they are good then maybe it's an issue with the spinner.
Do you have a logic probe or oscilloscope?
