I placed an order for the Analogue 3D last week as the N64 is my favourite console and would like a physical version that it ‘’future proof’’ if there is such a thing!

I’ve never been overly tempted by Analogue products before now mostly due to the costs.

I know a few have the pocket console but anyone pick up any of the ‘consoles’ they released and share their thoughts?

The NT looked pretty cool.

I have the Mega SG, Super NT, Pocket and I pre-ordered the 3D. It is top end stuff. Everything works really well. Hook it up to a VGA Crt and it is especially awesome. Some people who are technophiles will find problems with them but to the everyday person they are great. The 3D looks the best one yet I spent the last year buying some expensive games in their Japanese releases as I knew this was coming and was multi-region.

They could screw this one up, but all their other stuff is very well made.

I really wanted to order one but I don't like Analogues business model of paid for pre orders. Last thing I ordered I'd pretty much forgotten about by the time it arrived well over a year later and long past when they said it should be shipping. I'll wait for it to be available to ship straight away

i have the pocket and it is fantastic, the only thing thats put me off buying the consoles is the fact i own all of the original consoles and they are all in perfect working order, plus i have a MiSTer as well

they have poor business practices but most big companies do these days, very well made bits of kit though

I could be missing the point, but does it offer any better future proofing than spending the £250 on a couple of N64s and keeping the change? I doubt they've open sourced the emulation in it.

Same as above..
Very fond of my n64zz
I was watching sin & punishment today …. & star fox tank levels.
Sin and Punishment 2 on the Wii is a brilliant game. Would've made a cracking arcade game.
Does get far too hard later on though.

i always see a lot of these retro "people" say they want to future proof(no dig at anyone in here), but i have maybe 25 retro consoles and not a single one has ever blown a cap or stopped working, i'm not saying it doesnt happen, but could it possibly(and here we go with my Bod hat on) them trying to sell you their services?

also seen loads of people saying don't blow on your carts as well, that works 95% of the time for me when a game wont load

i think the only console i have ever had to give a little wipe with alcohol swap was a NES that looked a bit worn and rusty, and then it worked perfect

Yeah I did caveat by saying ‘if there is such a thing’! 😂

I actually have a HDMI modded N64 which is just amazing. I guess I meant that it’s a new piece of hardware and at 4K it’ll probably be able to deal with whatever the next leap in video output will be.

Future proof is a bit of a nonsense term tbf.

I have the mister and all the consoles also but this one grabbed me as it’s a sensible price point, region free, fully Bluetooth controllable which will be awesome with the switch n64 controllers I hope

They'll open up the OS at some point and allow ROMs. Then it might be a cheaper way to play the likes of Bangiaoh etc.

I love my Pocket and have loads of Game Boy carts - none of which ever get put into the machine. No point.

i have a load of GB carts, i think i tried one in my pocket when it first arrived

this is the main problem i feel with a lot of these consoles, they are based off FPGA, so you can run ROMS off them, unless you dont have a decent PC, just run them on that or a MiSTer instead

Just getting first hands on with the mister tonight ..
Just familiarising myself with all the Menu’s. It’s blown me away already .
Just thinking about n64 :) man …
I have the Radnet n64 pc controller I can use it on emulators but could not get the rumble to work ..
Hopefully with mister I will be able to play wave race with rumble …
“ Welcome to dolphin park”.
Blast corps
Mario 64
Pilot wings
Wave race
Star fox
Trouble makers
Just sublime
I have a lot of gb games don’t get a chance to play two little ones to take care of . But analog pocket I will get one .. at some point ..or
Maybe a taki udon handheld .
I loved the idea of the analogue pocket turbo 16 hue card compatibility and then the way they charged so much for the additional slots I just couldn’t bring myself to give over £600 plus .. I will have to wait .. but with so many games waiting isn’t going to be boring ;)

I am guessing you you have never owned a Neo Geo home console, those carts need cleaning from new.. God knows what SNK put on those carts but the last half dozen releases had some greasy substance on the edges that needed a real good scrub.

Aren't customs charges usually 20% plus an admin fee of £10-£20? So basically just vat plus a small fee. At least that's my experience.
