Hi All

I have a Hanatrex monitor in a JAMMA cab and the picture is a bit off and its making a bit of a buzzing noise too.Can someone recommended a mobile service engineer to come and recap it and a general look over?

Alternatively if someone who knows what they are doing could take a look then I can pay fuel and going rate time wise.
Thanks as ever
Adam

I don't know of anyone who comes out to do the work personally (likely a time consuming process) the typical way to get them fixed is to discharge the monitor, disconnect the chassis and send it off to one of the excellent repairers (Gunblade etc)

Plenty of YouTube videos on the subject.

If just turned off, expect a large crackle sound. Wait a few mins then do again as sometime there can still be a static buildup.

Some monitors have a discharge resistor that will automatically handle this for you, so no crackle sound.

Try not to wiggle the neckboard too much when you take it off as the pins can break, especially on older monitors.

As another option, have a google for TV repair shops near to you. I am lucky and have one literally around the corner. The staff there love it when I bring the old stuff in as it breaks up the monotony of swapping out circuit boards in knackered flat screens.

Really got to know the guys in mine, over the years, who have fixed loads of faulty chassis for me.

Good luck, and be careful if you are discharging a freshly used monitor.
