Tempest Finally

hi Guys the Tempest i have took a dump a few months back and I've had other things going on finally took a closer look today at the cab see pictures it was basically having image degradation wobbly screen and finally gave up the ghost ,i power up nothing displayed and the spot killer stays on so turned it back off sharpish dropped nad an email think he's going to look at the boards for me ordered some bits from Alan-1to try and future proof it if that's possible ? found some bits that look like they need replacing round the monitor casing ?

Your first step, if you haven’t already is to get/download Andrew Baldman’s excellent “How to bring up a 6100 color vector” PDF guide.

It’s possible the fault might actually lay with your Tempest boardset and not the monitor.

You don’t need the Alan-1 stuff. If you go through replacing all the common problematic components on the 3 original 6100 boards and do the LV mod on the deflection board, then the monitor should run pretty sweet for a long time (assuming you know for sure your Tempest game board is definitely good).

appreciate advice thanks for taking the time to reply ,i have the Alan 1 stuff here ,im tired of the stuff failing i stepped away for 4 years as it was causing me some health issues now trying to get things running and some will go i have not a lot a patience with it anymore used to love tinkering with it all ,will take a look at guide . cheers
