Solved Taito 3 layer pcb roms?

Hi looking for some advice? Been checking over this board and and the legs are falling of the roms ! Looks like new roms and sockets needed! But there are 10 of them on 2708’s what other roms can be used? I have 2732’s , downloaded the romset but looks to be just 5 files so I’m a bit stuck!

If there are 5 files that means they are for the 2716 eproms. There must be some jumpers on the board so one can use 5x2716 eproms instead of 10x2708. I'm not familiar with that board.

Thankyou so looks I need 2716 x5 there are jumpers and I see info on setting them for 2716 looks like each one has a jumper. Also need to check my programmer does these

Most of them require 21V or 25V for programming. You can use and 2732 instead but make sure you double the binary file if the pin21 is 5V.

Thanks again, so double load the bin file for each 2732, will need to look into the pin 21 for 5v

I did manage to program a 2716 for a field goal on a tl866 programmer by bending the 21v pin out of the socket and connecting a separate power supply to it(old battery hoover psu, just cut the plug off lol). I loaded everything up on the computer ready to burn and only turned the 21v psu on just before I hit the burn button. I did link the 0v together though, I think as long as the 21v leg is not in the programmers socket it's ok.

2732 is in the device list on my Wellon VP-280 and it has it's own psu but sure it puts out 21v

Also on the board pin21 is not connected to the 5v rail so should be ok without doubling up the file@

Depends if its 5V or GND. If ist 5V you need to double the file since only the upper half will be used. If it's GND, no need to do it since only the lower part will be used. If floting, conect it to gnd and just burn the 2716 file to an 2732. Don't leave it floating.

Ok now the jumpers are set as pictured above pin21 is 5 volts so I will try and burn a set tomorrow and double up the files

Make sure there is no -5V or 12V on the pins. It shouldn't be if the jumpers are corect.

So I don't know how to get the files doubled in the buffer! I can load it once but must maybe need doubled before adding somehow?

You can use binman here to double the files before you open them in the programmer.

or use a dos prompt and use the command copy /b file.name + file.name new.file

managed to get the roms done, thanks guys! At first power on I realised I put the shifter chip in the wrong way mb14241 after repairing some broken legs so that got very hot and no doubt is toast! Anyway the screen is not right either but I got some sort of blocks on the screen and not much else happening I might need to get the board looked at, no idea who still does this? The psu is fine I checked all the voltages prior, had to replace a 5v regulator and a diode, been over the strapping and I’m confident it’s all correct

Can't remember where you can get it but there is a test rom for this space invaders boardset, I have used it in the past, maybe someone can give you a link ?
