A dream comes true

Hi everyone!

I am the very happy and excited new owner of a Videomaster jamma cab, my first ever real arcade cab and I couldn’t be happier! Currently it has the 60 in 1 vertical board but also would love a horizontal board to. Any recommendations on where to buy and where to avoid maybe and just general tips on looking after the cab would be really appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Paul 😊

I'm not sure about this exact cab, but in mine you can undo a couple of bolts and pull the monitor out to rotate it. This gets old fast though and you'll end up just buying a second horizontal cab :D

If you're looking beyond the 60-in-1 but don't want to get into actual PCB collecting, I would recommend Arpicade or DIY (I have both of these in mine and I'm perfectly happy with both).

Welcome….
There are still some good quality generic cabinets out there if you like the multi-game options … you don’t get bored of single game play so quickly ….
Also if you find you need horizontal options it’s a great excuse for buying a second machine (some monitors do spin 90 degrees ok but the wife doesn’t need to know that ! )
If you’re happy that’s the satisfaction of owning one ….

As for tips on looking after it … just enjoy .. clean the glass and button panel occasionally especially the monitor screen if it’s a crt ? They build up a dirt residue over time ,, keep an eye on the plug, if it’s not a sealed lead type, sometimes wires work loose in pins if not been checked in ages. Simple to just check, I have seen neutral wires come loose and heat up as they draw more current and seen odd ones burn away near the pin? Quite rare if it’s fitted correctly!

Hello!
Haha yes I was thinking the same!! Oh ok I’ve not heard of either of those, I’ll have a look now. Thanks for the recommendation!

Brill, thanks for all those tips luckily it’s a moulded 3pin kettle lead so should hopefully be ok. I’ve stripped the sticks and buttons so far and serviced them, there’s a bit of a glitch every now and then on the screen. I’ve tried to adjust the pots but with no luck so far I need a mirror or something to do it as a small adjustment then going to see if it’s worked is becoming very tedious haha!

Looks super nice!
Do the buttons light up, if not have a look at putting the bulbs in, they look good with them illuminated

I've videomasters the same, i loved these too.
If you every do want another lmk, as i should start to shift items I don't use as much as others might.

60in1 is great Qix and frogger can keep you entertained for ages!

ROTABLE VIDEOMASTER SCREEN.

I do also have a 25" model videomaster, never seen another. It has rotable mech for the monitor in it.

Welcome !!! Buy your self some PCB's from here and from trusted regular users. Stick a list of games you want in the ' Wanted ' section and see what happens. If you are unsure about what buyers to trust just ask or look at the feedback (Although the feedback is not used often enough !).

Only other tip is to buy from UK else you may get stung with import changed and silly delivery rates.

I have some stuff coming up soon as I have made the decision to sell a load of boards I am never going to play.

Dave.
