It turns out a Sega N-Sub PCB I've been fixing along with the entire cab that had a blown 'everything', is undumped. It has 16x 2708 ROMs on there which look invarious states of deterioration but the game did boot and run last night. Now I've found it's not preserved I can't power it up again until these chips are read. I nearly ruined one today when my hand slipped and twisted a leg near 180 degrees, no idea how that didn't break off... It needs archiving before I ruin it.

What can I buy witout selling a kidney to dump these, or does anyone have something they can lend me / could dump it if I bring it over.

Not to long ago someone else asked about 2708’s also, I think you also replied to that post. The person from that post was looking for a reader/programmer so I build the project from the post above for her. Never heard from again so I still have it here. If you are interested send me a message.

I did build one of those devices myself (actually it's still not tested as I lost one resistor and now have to check every single installed one is correct....) - but in the end I traded some PCBs for a Data I/O 29B. The ROMs on the undumped PCB turned out to be intact and are now preserved in MAME, the PCB was made reliable by burning a complete set on new chips with clean legs. As a bonus I was able to dump a chip from an IPM Invader set which had long been missing rom 6.
