And you thought it was new technology

Here we go. Interesting reading maybe we have improved battery tech!

I never saw one to be honest they were trying to track one down, probably had 500 mile range and charged in 20 minutes

, we made automation for the logistics business in my time, we had some real funky machines, the owner at that time used to come up with a idea, sketch it out literally on a fag packet and then get it made, never forget working on a machine that transported used nuclear waste in these large flasks (as they were called) for the Atomic Weapons Establishment, and our machine would all of the sudden stop steering...not what you really want happening, hoping your radiation check device did not start bleeping

I guess they didn't have to power computerised systems so the battery lasted longer. No ABS, no power steering, no electric windows.

Was that by design or by accident?

Transporting nuclear waste wouldn't go down well today would it!

Saying that though, all the crap that my grand parents and parents generation breathed in over the previous years, a bit of nuclear waste probably wouldn't of hurt.

My grandad used to work in a foundry and smoked embassy cigs without a filter, I think he died in his late 50's/early 60's, his cough shook the walls man. My mom used to work in a factory soldering with lead solder, she has issues with her chest now mind. I grew up with lead paint in my toys, mercury in the batteries, lead petrol/diesel vehicles, and asbestos heat linings in the house among other things and miraculously I'm still here.

In all seriousness, I bet there were loads of innovative companies that did things before they became popular.

That was a nice read mate!

I do remember milk floats driving around when I was a kid, they made such a distinctive noise. I wonder if your company would have stuck with it would they have broken through into the mainstream.

I think there's a misconception that engineering was 'simple' 80 years ago, more complicated doesn't mean better. A work colleague mentioned to me that Keanu Reeves's favourite motorcycle was a Norton, and that's from a man who owns a modern motorcycle factory!

Yep i remember the distinctive milk float noise as a kid, we did some pretty clever things with our machines in the 90's when i was there with batteries etc.

I reckon if you had one of those cars now they would be worth a fortune!

It was still ground breaking engineering 'back in the day' when you consider no computers all done by some very clever people on drawing boards etc., just look at what the used to get the Apollo moon landing as a computer power wise, i have to admire things like that, especially being an engineer myself/

Interesting stuff stickman, will have a read through that stuff.

Thought you would be awake Ian from what you said before, my mate was on 11/9 as we call it here pretty quick. That really is good advice on not watching TV, as you say, Direct your attention on other things instead of all the Poison, never been on the social media lunacy, could never understand why children allowed on it

See the new Digital Motorways coming, Nice, next level of control and already Talk of Electric Cars bringing in no Tax and Taxing Roads, Guess thats what the Digital Motorway is for

Should be Sir David Icke, only one talking sense right now. Just not sure why so many arent realising whats going on, world is insane

Keeping it simple works for me these days mate. As much as I respect Mr Icke, from personal experience there's a danger of submerging yourself too much in that sort of info that it can eventually taint everything you experience throughout life until a balance is found.

Ernie Paniccioli hits the nail on the head in the following talk from 2010 where he briefly touches upon how people are becoming slaves to technology. Ernie isn't some run of the mill conspiracy theorist, he's a native American Indian photographer who documented Hip Hop throughout the years. He'published a book called 'Hip Hop At The End Of the World'.

Ernie starts to explain a phenomenon called CSDS near the beginning of his first lecture, he then goes in a short history of Hip Hop and how it's not a culture. It's one of my favourite talks with a Hip Hop flavour.
