these all look way too tall without any chillis on them, most of them start to sprout chillis when they are about 1-2 feet tall

Yeah there are a few that have just taken to the vertical heights for whatever reason. They've started budding now, difficult to see a fair number of them in the pic though.

I need to get them all out at the weekend, spray them again and get some of them supported.

I'm about a week or two behind, gave my rents a few and they've got a better garden for the sun so they've done loads better than I have, I've just got volume on my side atm

Edit - Yup the bhuts are hottens, need to be treated with caution!

I could eat anything hot a few years ago, even those bottles of chilli liquid that say do not ingest, but recently I'm starting to feel the heat!
I'm not sure it's you. I think dishes have generally gotten hotter over the years. A vindaloo from the 80s is probably madras at best these days

Agreed, as a country we have caught up with the rest of the world and things aren't spiced down like they used to be.

I do think it is me, I cook from scratch. I don't use as many chillis as I use to in my thirties.

On a funny side note, my eldest bought some of that stupidly hot chilli chocolate (like £10 for 20g) and took it to school and him and his mates ended up being sick in class after eating it 🤣 now his tolerance to spicy is very low.

Well after I had virus last year or year before and lost my taste for a few weeks I seem to find spicy stuff seems hotter than I did before, also taste of things bit different and my Mum said same on the later also

Are you growing the same variety? Seems like there's a constant competition to up the heat to stupid levels

Yeah, it's how it got a bit out of control, I thought I'd fail more, and didn't.... then variety wise I wanted to mix it up. I'll probably do some hot sauces and end up freezing the rest.

Think I had 10 on the go in the end...

One of my favourites is the chilli jam man Carolina wing sauce, the Louisiana is great too but there's a lovely fruit flavor to the Carolina, recommend that 👍
