Just wondered how to do this? I have a set of 3 way technics speakers that have a seperate feed to the bass and the mid and high range, so 2 sets of wires for each speaker, I want to use a standard amp that will only feed 2 wires, can I just bridge the connection so the wire will be feeding bass mid and high or will I need a crossover network?

Thanks Ronnie

Kev (Outrun) would have been able to answer this but I've no idea if he's still about. Would be interesting to know if he is because I've got Denon seperates that have been in the loft for 12 years and when they eventually come out they are going to need a service I imagine before being able to be plugged in.

You can, based on three things...you dont change the impedance...you dont pump more power into them than the individually rated drivers...and depending on the design, you may not get full range/sound quality...if mid/high are cones, they will be seen same as the bass speaker without a crossover so would get full frequencies...some dont like it

Thanks guys, I had a quick look behind the speaker connector and the mid and high are fed via a capacitor so may not get the full whack? I may try this for now and buy a set of crossovers

Thanks Ronnie

Seems to be working well, another question? I have it hooked up to a all
in one pc via headphone socket to phono on the amp, it's an old Ariston
basic seperates amp, if I pull out the heaphone socket the amp buzzes
like a c**t! As it's tucked away out of sight it's not ideal if I shut
the pc down etc, the only way of shutting the amp up is pressing the
tape button but then the sound does not work? This button is seperate
from the source selector dial.

Cheers Ronnie
