Anyone been banned from driving by mistake?

Sounds like someone has copied your number plate. It’s called ringing. Their car is a dead ringer for yours. It’s done when a car is stolen and it’s given a new “legit” registered plate. I am surprised that if they have had run ins with the police they haven’t been caught, but likey they just go about breaking the law in your name blasé.
Get onto the police and report it now.

Good a reason as any to have some fairly unique large stickers on the rear of you car.
We can usually spot surfy friends a mile off at a beach, even if we've not been in contact for months because everyone has fairly unique sticker placements on their vans & cars, even if they are the same generic rip curl / gopro / vans / roxy / quicksilver type stuff.
Reminds me I have those 'Space Invader' ones to stick on mine ...

police wont do anything about it just say its with the court/Dlva and they blame eachother so havent a clue

just spoke to Dvla my licence is back to normal.. in going to be making a complaint though for they messing around and days ive lost

Had police phoning me a few years back, asking about my car which was Company Smax, they said car with my plates had driven off from petrol Station in Lincoln way, I hadn't been up there in years, told them it's company car, they asked a few more questions and said no problem and that was it, either someone made mistake or plates copied
