Sinclair QL! They always had those things out on display in the shops. But I never met anyone who actually had one.
Same ere! I remember the QL out on display and in ads but most people i knew would of had the ZX rubber key firstly then a Commodore 64 or rarely an Amstrad in that era. Being from a poor family I got a Commodore C16 boxed new at a bargain price when i was little, i was hyped thinking it was gonna be like the C64! But no... 😒😆

Lewisham high street. (This pic is from 89/90 i believe)
Xmas-90-1.jpg
First saw a Vectrex in that Army & Navy store 1983/4, crossed that tubed footbridge hanging above the road from Boots to the Army & Navy and they had one set up in there.
Walk back across the bridge into the main Lewisham shopping mall and they used to have this independent toy/model shop inside. Had the best Star Wars selection i have ever seen. All the vehicles stacked up around with tons of the 12" figures as well.
A massive wall of 3.75" (that i used to spend so much time looking at the back of the cardbacks and deciding which figure i will buy with my limited pocket money!)
Self build model Star Wars crafts boxes everywhere with many built models like the Death Star and Tie Fighters hanging down from the ceiling on fishing wire.
Plus tons of other 1980s cool stuff like Gremlins etc and obscure collectables you wouldn't really find in other places.
They must of had a good import thing with america.
Was a magical shop, was magical times.
