any body got any links to decent arcade machine sales sites and/or parts websites?

also has anyone dealt with directgamesroom in the uk?

emailed him asking some prices and details about his gear and his answers came back very cryptic, including at one point asking me not to mention on here to anyone that i had spoken with him?! and just straight ignoring me when i asked him questions about price and finishes of machines etc...very strange... also saying there is no point buying original hardware as it all breaks and costs too much...

one of his prices was £750 to set up a pc that emulates some (like 3!) arcade titles....

seems.... very.... steep... especially as he wouldn't comment on the pc's spec! just stating theres a lot of labor involved with set up?

the total price for a repro arcade machine with PC innards set up to emulate was £1965-2000 ....not tyring to drag anyone down... and i understand these things can be time consuming and get expensive... but i think maybe a bit of wishful thinking is going on there, i cant imagine they shift many at them prices...

That price is nuts, even beyond the usual eBay chancers. I've used all these guys and never had a problem:

http://www.arcade-base.com
http://arcadejapan.co.uk
http://www.ultracabs.co.uk
http://www.arcadeworlduk.com
https://www.arcadeshop.de

That list is just from my experience, I'm sure there are plenty of other good suppliers

If you're after a brand new cab and don't mind LCD, Arcade Base make exceedingly good ones!

If you would rather go CRT get a mamed up Jamma Cab off the forums and buy a 2huwman GroovyArcade PC (check Jamma+ member services section) to go in it.

yeah tell me about it!

think its the same guy with the 1000 quid virtua cop and the 2grand house of the dead 2 on ebay at the mo....

thanks ill check out them sites. i dont think im adverse to an LCD cos if i build a new arcade i kinda want it to last / be a little future proof

I'd steer clear of arcadeshop.de, they used to be superb but things went rapidly downhill the last few months, there's a whole thread about it on Arcade Otaku.
