Atari SW Query

Forgive me purists, Has anyone made a cockpit cab for a star wars repro using mame or equivalent?
If so, how did it turn out?

Don't see why it wouldn't be great...the only major compromise is the monitor. I think a high res VGA CRT would probably be the best bet?
