Hi I am new to this site and would appreciate any insights people may have. I have just purchased a Barcrest fruit machine and having trouble getting it going. When you turn it on it has no lights on the front and just repeats “check it out”, if I open the front I can see all the voltage led’s solid green and the next led flashes in a sequence of 1 green followed by 5 red lights on the MPU5 board. It also had 4 broken wires that I have reconnected (not 100% sure they’re correct), 3 of the broken wires come from the keyhole to the far right of the coin tray (maybe the service key) and finally it has a white connector that doesn’t seem to have a home and that is located at the bottom of the machine by the coin buckets at the bottom! Just looking for somewhere to start and I appreciate any input people may have. Thanks

With what you are saying regarding the red LEDs being lit, that sounds to me like a voltage issue (especially since you also said none of the lights are working).

Check out the wiring between the PSU and MPU5. Make sure everything is firmly connected and no broken/cut wires.
Ideally, if you have a spare known working power supply (or swop from another Barcrest MPU5 machine), try that to see if it works.

Thanks for the reply, I should have been clearer regarding the led’s.. the first 4 lights are (voltage I believe) and they all stay solid green, the next light flashes in a sequence of 1 green then 5 red, which I believe is an error code? Would having the refil key lock being broken affect the machine? Thanks

Having a broken or disconnected refill lock will not affect the machine from powering up.

From your updated description, I’m now thinking your MPU5 main board or game card is faulty.
Maybe the onboard battery has caused some pcb corrosion? If this is the case, your best bet is replacing the board.

Really appreciate the input, I have actually got it up and running! The error pattern was pointing to the mux “missing” but I checked the two fuses on the mux and one was blown!! I’m thinking it can’t be as simple as a £0.12p fuse… it was!😂
