Been offered Out Run machine help wanted

First off apoligies if I have posted in the wrong place...

A friend who owns an Arcade has offered me an
original mint stand up Out Run cab for £300 and will deliver it for me
as well.. Trying to talk my mother into allowing me to use her shed to
store it.. What is the width and would it fit through a door? Google
says there are 2 stand up versions, one slightly smaller and minus wheel
vibration and it's saying the weight is 120kg!! The one I have been offered I believe is the force feedback wheel, but the wheel doesn't lock

Also would have
to get it down 4 stone steps, and the Shed(a brick shed) is damp would
the move and the shed damage it? Would the cabinet being wood rot or
deteriate? My friend says the Monitor could be dismantled this
wouldn't be easy, looking at a Out Run restoration online it says it
took them over 3 hours to take it apart..

Also I will need to let him know by Monday or it goes on Ebay

Putting it in a damp shed will do it no good at all, electronics (especially old electronics) need a warm dry environment. You can usually get a cabs dimension from the flyers, check out arcadeflyers.com. 120kg is about right at a guess for a cab of that size.

If it is indeed in mint condition you will destroy it. As said it needs to be stored in a moderately warm and dry place. A shed at the back of your garden is just not good enough. Sorry :-(

Agree with the above. The mini will easily fit through a typical sized door and it won't be as monstrously heavy as the full sized cab. Two people and a good strong sack truck with inflatable tyres will make it easiesh work. Damp will ruin it though, you might be OK to leave it in there in the summer, but get it moved inside once autumn comes.

my Girlfriend would let me have it in the house but unfortunately we split up and I'm back with my Mother so the Shed would be the only place I could keep it, unless it was a tabletop and I could have that upstairs..

It turns the Out Run cab has a yellow screen costing £100 to repair and the steering wheel doesn't lock even though the Arcade Owner claims he had repaired these faults.. Pictures are below I'm sure some of you will know which arcade this is and the Out Run In question

Screen costs about 2.788 pence per hour to run as they only consume about 175w

Agree also with above, worth £300 with the two faults, esp. getting delivered too

Go for it, but do what I do as my games are in a large wood
cabin so I remove all the game boards in the winter, box them and store them indoors.
You really do not want to be using machines out in the cold of winter, as if
they don’t go pop due to condensation they sure will eventually as a warm
machine will just attract moisture once switched off

It's just a generic shifter isn't it? Chase HQs use the Taito branded ones and have a button for the nitro as well.

Totally agree.

If you are a fan, that is a massive bargain. A few come up but not for that price, buy the thing already

You should snap this cab up in a flash, regardless of the slight imperfections - these cabs are 25 years old now so there's always gonna be something to sort out. This one looks good and is a bargain especially if you can get it delivered for £300!

I wouldn't worry too much about moving it or storing it in a slightly damp environment. I had my OutRun in a shed for 11 years. I just took the boards and the pedal assembly out over winter and stuck a couple of those damp traps in there - the wood stayed damp free. I restored it back to its full original glory

To move the cab, just remove the dash panel and monitor - that's a lot of the weight gone. I put plastic castors on mine to make it even easier to move and keep the cab off the floor..

Go get the cab you've been offered quick before someone else beats you to it - it's gonna get a lot of views in that arcade this week
