I'm still waiting on my copy of the Neo Geo book from Amazon, but I also have the Metal Slug book and the extended version of Artcade.
The Metal Slug book I would recommend to anyone even remotely interested in the game. It's one of the best videogame art books I've seen.
Artcade is slightly different. This is the extended edition, which is doing it a bit of disservice because they entirely changed the contents and even the format based off feedback from the original. It's basically a load of vectorised marquees and side art, along with a few interesting interviews and even a how-to. I guess some people may find vectorised art a bit too 'clean' but I love it. There's even a glow in the dark slip case and a PDF version.
One book I can recommend which isn't Bitmap is Sega Pop-up history. It's a brief history of Yu Suzuki's Taiken cabs and 6 very silly yet kinda awesome pop-up dioramas of the cabs:

That one is from ROM, who do some good stuff too. I've also got their Bitmap Brothers book which is really nice.
I am a sucker for an expensive art book
