It probably helps that Netflix reduced the quality of its streaming during Covid-19 quarantine. Last film I watched look noticeably worse than normal.

I've started to collect 4k blu rays now, but I am running out of shelf space! I need to have a clear out of some of my DVDs. Lots of stuff that is no longer available though so it can be hard to let go.

I'll always prefer physical media though - streaming is great but it can all be taken away in an instant. Plus the quality even at 4k will never match physical media due to the compression they use. A 4k Blu ray will run 60+ GB, and streaming won't approach even 10Gb at the best quality settings. It is most noticeable in banding and digital artifacts to me.

I tried netflix for a free month. Couldn't work out what all the fuss is about. I thought it was crap.

I've watch hardly any physical media. If I think of a film I want to watch it's downloaded and ready before I've even boiled the kettle.

Just catching up with the latest season of Walking Dead. Had them d/loaded for a while but forgot about them. It's as disappointing as ever. Hardly worth the effort. By the time i get to the last of each season I find myself hoping it's the end of the series, only to find the door left wide open for the next boring season which I force myself to watch only to go through the whole thing again.

Just like when the original b/w Flash Gordon series was on during the school holidays in the 70's.

My mate says just rip all ya dvds to the nas box, which yeah i admit is a good idea for TV Series stuff, half time you cant be bothered to fetch a dvd out these days and half the stuff is on TV all time, i probably will do that when i sort mine out again

Like i said to him, ripping blu rays though you'll soon fill the space then you have all the 5.1, 7.1, 3D etc so sooner watch the discs.

Plus you need some reliable gear that doesnt screw up all time, hard enough to get a blu ray 3d player you can set to multi region that doesnt screw up, hopeless these days and yet 90s video recorders still working perfect

The funniest thing possible would be if this season got wiped and made null and void. I'd cry with laughter. It could only happen to Liverpool.
