I have spotted these brand new and licenced Outrun 2 machines, What do you all think of them ?? First thing I notice is the cheap comparable coin mech from china !!! Stickers look a little tatty and overall build quality looks crappy even from a distance. Are they trying to revive the arcades ??

There are also a few other I have noticed as ' new ' - Aliens Extermination , Jurassic Park & A few others.

Link to the guy selling them on greedbay :-

My opinion for what it's worth and without even looking at the item on eBay. If someone can't even be arsed to line up the square button properly, then I doubt they did anything else properly either.

It's not licensed, it's running a hacked up PC game. Everything is just wrong, from the bad quality stickers to the steering wheel and shifter. You could buy one for £300 from China.

I Did think the same about license and when people say it is I suppose its not always but they do state that :-

Outrun 2 is the updated version of the classic Sega arcade driving game - Outrun. This newer Outrun 2 version is fully licensed and approved by Ferrari and allows players to fulfil their racing dreams by driving their choice of 8 different classic Ferrari's.

I think refers to Sega licensing the Ferrari cars to include them in the game. However, that license expired some years ago, and Sega had to pull Outrun Online from Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

These Chinese cabinets have nothing to do with Sega. In the beginning they copied the Japanese Outrun 2 single cabinets - quite well I may add - and used a first gen Xbox with a custom credit board which also had a macro functionality which started the game with the correct settings. Then they moved on to these PC based cabinets which run Outrun 2006 with coin play hacked in.

This. It has as much soul as a block of concrete.

There is one of these near me. The artwork is terribly printed, very blurry.

The lcd is also blurry and the framerate is low and jerky

I got given one of these machines for clearing an arcade and making the owner £8k, and generally agree with most of the above comments.

But for a freebie its a nice additional to the games room!!

These are not licensed, and generally around £1500, i know the postage from china is crazy money for arcade machines if you buy a one off!

Any way me and my kids love it and as i say didnt pay a bean for mine!

Would say its about a £300/400 cab tops

Nice!

My top skater is amazing mate...so cheers for sorting that.

All problems fixed, needed new DSB2 in the end, and AGS did the roms. (not same game without music!)

Then I was using a projector on wall as the 50" rear pro didn't work

then I stored the rear projector in some racking and I did it lazy and tired and dropped it from 3m.

After months, I got it back down last week and wired up - WOW it worked.

Anyone with broken rear projector - try dropping from 3m!!! onto other things, and make sure you end up with a fist size hole in the side!

Funny it says 'Full Motion Seat'. I fail to see how they've got motion from the game into the seat, unless they've manged to get it from OR2SP somehow - although I highly doubt it. Anyone with one can fill us in on the 'motion' seat?

Haha - experience the ‘3D effects’ by moving the seat closer

Do they actually have a service menu, being a hacked version? Or do you just have to turn the ffb off in Windows?

also you can do joystick controlled motion which is terrible.
How far you turn left, controls the lean to right of seat. apply brake and leans forward etc etc
