Camcorder woes

My JVC HD Everio camcorder never seemed to work right from new (about 12 months old)

It uses an SD card for memory, so I used a 32GB Micro SD card with an adapter. All looked OK. But, the camcorder kept stopping during a recording, sporadically, and sometimes prompting on screen, 'updating management files'

What I didn't realise, is the Micro SD card had a slow read speed and since I've replaced it with a 30mbps Sandisk SD card WITHOUT the adapter, it's now perfect

I didn't know that the read speed was that important. Lesson learnt

I didn't know about the numbers on them denoting Speed of them till I was looking at 32gb and 64gb for the car stereo's and camera

Got a 10 for Camera as it does Full HD recording and 6 speed for the stereo's as it's still a good speed for filling with music

I looked into this when I bought my camcorder last year (well the wife bought me it for my birthday

)

I bought a 64GB San Disk Class 10 card for recording...The Class 10 is recommended for 'high speed HD' recording,the 'lower' the Class of card the worse it is for full HD recording....

I didn't no all this info until i'd read up on these cards....

Bought mine off Ebay for around £30 if I remember rightly,far cheaper than going to PC world etc...
