This is driving me a bit (more) nuts! I have a PC with this mobo and want to remove the graphics card and just run it using the itegrated graphics, but I can't find a setting in the BIOS to do so. When I remove the graphics card, I get the 'videocard not detected' beep code (1 long beep; 3 short beeps) and no output to the monitor. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Does the chip you're using definitely have onboard graphics? Or if it's on the motherboard, a jumper to set?

I assume it's got onboard graphics as it has HDMI, VGA and DVI ports. The manual I downloaded was pretty basic and didn't mention anything about BIOS settings. I'll see if there's a better one somewhere...

Which BIOS make and revision is it? Is there a newer BIOS available? PC BIOSs in the last 15 years have became very advanced.

With the Video Card connected maybe enter the BIOS and Select "Use Integrated Video Card" or something. There may also be a setting to set how much memory it should be allowed use. Make sure that's less than the actual amount of RAM installed. Power it down and remove the Video Card. Does it do the same with VGA and HDMI output?

Processor Type: Xeon?
That'll be a real bottleneck for games. Linus TechTips do loads of testing and Xeons were designed really for servers. Not playing games.

I stopped using desktops with external graphics cards for this reason. You end up with all sorts of grief like that.

I personally would never spend more than the price of a games console on a video card...

What CPU are you using?

There's no onboard graphics on some Xeons or on CPU's that end in F.

Although there are HDMI/VGA ports on your motherboard, onboard graphics is on the CPU and not on the motherboard like in the past.

Ah! The CPU is a 9th gen i5 F, so that would explain it. I just assumed the onboard graphics were part of the mobo chipset. My PC knowledge is a bit out of date.

Thank you guys!
