People have clued themselves up with retro items. but i always say its worth what some one will pay for it.
but its a carboot taking items and asking for lots is never going to work, i stumble upon things now and again which are usually well priced i got snes games zelda link to the past, star trek star fleet academy, secret of mana and illusion of time all boxed complete but i think they had been sat in a cellar for some time as the box`s , manual s where moist not damaged per say just not good for £15 all 4. the carts are mint and fully working.

so they are out there just you now get fookers whom have no interest in gaming picking them up cheap and then just flipping them on ebay for quick drugs cash.

cartridge based games just go in an instant though especially nintendo items. games i buy are worth what i paid for them ive no interest what the fook ebay says, we all know how much aresoles shill bid them.

I've sold at well over 50 boot fairs, and people will moan about paying £2 for a Fred Perry top, but as someone mentioned, the same person will spend £15 feeding there family, on sh*tty burgers and junk!!! Maybe I should open a 'Retro' burger van, and coin that cash in!

Too many people make a living from Car boots so the competition is fierce, gone are the days of being among the few who bought retro 'junk'.

I remember being laughed at by a friend of my mates when I was sweating in the blazing heat carrying home piles and piles of crap, he eventually stopped laughing when he seen that I sold some things like Great Giana Sisters for £100 when it only cost me 50p. You could be selective back then and still rake it in.

If you become friends with the guys who do house clearances then you may have more of a chance, but like it's already been mentioned other stall owners usually clear up all the bargains before the place even opens to the public

Now every man and their 2 year old has a smart phone to check for prices on eBay.
The same thing has happened in Japan to be fair, after years and years of Gaijin hoovering up all the playable and rare games, Videogame prices have risen so high it's actually cheaper to buy some rare games outside Japan.

If I would have kept my gaming collection from 15 years ago I would have had enough to pretty much buy a nice house, I'm seeing PC Engine LT's sell for crazy money on Yahoo Japan these days. On a good day you could buy them for 200-300 in the early 2000's. Coryoon is selling for insane money on Yahoo recently, and don't talk to me about AES games.

These days I'm glad I'm out of all that collecting malarkey tbh, just give me a nice gaming PC and a couple of my favourite arcade games and I'm happy.

Yep, pretty much agree what people are saying that the golden days of car boot bargains are long gone

I've a car boot sale which is about 5 mins drive from where I live and I had some fantastic bargains from the mid 90's to mid 00's

I went a few year ago, first time in a while and not a sniff of anything retro just overpriced tat !

Never been back and don't intend to !
