I know this is easy to resolve if I send the rest of a bundle back , but for me its principle.
I really don't think it should be that hard for CEX to send me out a replacement wii console only for the broken one they sent me ! I have returned the broken console.

There only option is to send the rest of the bundle back.

I ordered a Wii bundle of them (online) and the wii was missing the gamecube flap and a crack exposing the wiring. The rest of the stuff was fine. I spoke to customer sevrices IN ADVANCE and asked could I just send the wii back and they said I could just send the "item" back, so did just that. I put a copy of what was agreed in with the wii. When they received they refused to do anything unless I send the rest of the items back. Also if I did not do it in 7 days they would send the dangerous Wii back to me ! After about 20 exchanges of email with the same answer and no flexibility I have gave up. The money dont bother me , I am a man of principle :) I have told them FOUR TIMES to keep it !!

Just wondered what peoples thoughts were , do you just see me being a pain or do you get my point ?

This is a small amount of the trail !

Moral of story is dont buy online !

I'll remove the names ...

T

he words are supportive from CEX and also had an apology about the miscommunication of just sending the wii back , just no flexibility, that is my point !

TODAY !

From Cex

Hi ME

Thank you for your email.

I do realise your situation. But returning them is the only option we can provide to resolve it. May I request you to consider it.

Hi ME,

Thank you for your email.

I can understand that you have a vulnerable relative to take care of. I also understand that you have already used the accessories for another Wii console installed at your relative and it will be an effort to take them out and send them to us.

However, due to the nature of our business, we can only request you to return them to us so that we can process a full refund for you.

But I would like to inform you that we do offer collection service via Royal Mail. You can make use of this service to send those accessories to us and to avoid the hassle of visiting the post office or our store. May I request you to click HERE to know more about it.

Hence, I would earnestly ask you to return the cables and accessories to us.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Regards,

Customer Support Associate.

Hi YYY I really do not feel Cex read my mails, it just repeats the previous conversations.

As stated in my escalation "You can keep the broken/dangerous wii as I am past caring about it when I have a vulnerable relative to care for instead, I find the inflexibility of CEX very disappointing "

I installed the wii at my relatives house and wont be wasting the time or effort to re-take it all out, to then return and plug it all back in again,.

Please feel free to keep the faulty wii and close this case, as I no longer need the hassle.

I will keep the cables and you can keep the wii and the money I paid for it.

Thanks

HI ZZZZ I have feedback on the awful experience of simply wanting a working wii sent out to me, to replace the clearly faulty one that was posted to me.

.

Cex can dispose of the broken/dangerous wii , posting back known faulty/dangerous goods to a customer is unacceptable. I dont want that wii back..

At end of day Cex posted a faulty wii out, misinformed me on the return and have no flexibility to resolve it, apart from further effort on my part.

I am past caring about it now , when I have a vulnerable relative to care for instead, I find the inflexibility of CEX very disappointing, and have fed that back.

You may as well close this case.

Bye

Cex are idiots
They stick price tags on Nintendo games that rip the surface off if you try to remove ..

I have told them.. they don’t listen…

Didn’t Nintendo file a lawsuit against them and ban them from ever selling any new Nintendo games…

Not that they sell new games any way..
And all there items are 30 percent more than any other price you would find on earth..
So why people go there I just don’t know?

I was a frequent customer back in the day ( harrow - Tottenham Court Road
Watford…. When it was in import shop…
Great times… now where’s the import games?

After our house was recently burgled, we went to our local CEX to mention we'd had a Switch nicked - give them a head's up (show a photo of the twat who took it), see if they'd had one handed in of that serial number.
They cut any conversation dead, declaring they don't get involved in discussing stolen goods.

So in light of that, and the fact their shop is a bunch of overpriced arse, screw CEX.

Sorry. To here you got burgled

I did write this up before here some
Years ago..

We got burgled
They stole my terminally sick Brothers Super Nintendo not long had it.
This is when it was maybe 1 or 2 years after year of release.

Back in them days the police came
Round taking finger prints..

But some how the story got into the papers ..
Then a week later Woolworths said come
Down to the store they want to give him a new Super Nintendo and a choice of ten games ;)
Happy Days!!! ;)

Yeh they could have helped you
But they didn’t.

Pretty sure that CEX who were Rathbone place and Harrow are nothing to do with the current CEX, the original was an import store and was where you could buy brand new Super Famicom and Neo Geo games on release.

Those same shops are just full of tat.

Sorry to hear of your problems with CEX, when companies get big they unfortunately tend to bring in stupid policies that are not flexible.

They're wildly inflexible. I had some thick t**t from there send me an Amiibo card they sell for £1 instead of a couple of Vita game. I argued and argued I wanted the games sent out, and after they agreed they would send the games when I returned the card (via recorded delivery, which they paid for) they sent me a bloody refund anyway. I won't buy online from them anymore. They were a bit of a toss up on whether you'd get items that looked like s**t anyway, with the added lack of flexibility it's not worth the hassle.

I used to buy from cex online when you could get 10+ games delivered for £1.99. Now it's £1.99 per game last time I checked. They sent a couple of games with photocopied covers which was not mentioned.

My Dad bought a few DVD box sets and discs were missing. Emails were ignored for weeks and weeks. After emailing again and again they finally responded and sent the missing disc. A lot of effort for a few quid. I think they count on that and most people won't bother.

Also the shops won't help with any purchases you made online.

If I want anything I would just buy from the shop, not online. neo-geo-mvs2022-05-27 19:10:59

Wow it's not just me then, they are indeed painful and inflexible.

Sorry to hear some of the circumstances on here around burglary and ill health.

I do worry if bills keep rising if crime will too and thefts will increase too :(

Wow I'd never buy from CEX online ever. Always go into store so you can check out what you are getting.

I used them a lot in the old days but 'retro' now has swelled their heads! Even ebay prices are cheaper most of the time!

CEX what a dumpster dive. They try sell games ( used ones ) and latest stuff at more than you can get a new sealed copy for.

Wasnt such a bad place back in late 90`s, but once people ( usually thieves ) could make easy money then it just ended up with stolen items.

And if you do buy games from them always check the cover they give you, more or less its a printed copy ( which is illegal )

My bro just got zelda game & watch ( re release)
And they said to him “ that was sealed but we opened it”)
And laughs … ?
Just boggles my mind
I said to him 3 times dont buy it…

And they sticker all their card board retro stuff…

Why don’t they plastic rap there card board box retro games first then price tag it?
I do care because they are helping toward the damaging of good snes & nes etc … boxes
And the sh*t money they pay people for there console stuff. Just for that same person to then take something else from them… they a laughing all the way ….

Just glad I’m not part of their silly shananagans
Loved rathbone / harrow/Watford /

Please come back the indie game import shops I miss you

But now they gone national was inthe Belfast branch other day
Same extortion racket going on over on the emerald island

I can sort of understand why they open sealed games. I used to work at Argos, and a couple of years back there was a scam where some customers would buy a new game, make a slit in the plastic seal at the bottom of the game case, then somehow they would fish out the game disc without damaging the rest of the sealed plastic, and they would then replace the game with a blank disc and somehow re-seal the slit in the bottom. Then they would return the game for a refund, which you were allowed to do if the game was still sealed. Argos must have lost a lot of money on this until the scam was discovered, and i bet CEX did too.

??land pirates.

They’re aaarrrggghhhnt just in the sea.

My older brothers friend

I watched him take a stanly knife and cut through the mega drive boxes,
That where locked in a game stand/cage.
The owner of the game shop
Thought it was impossible for people to take the games.
The cage/stand still allowed you to see touch the covers front and back.

This boy had issues he used to throw chisels at my feet and made me stand still.
Shot a harpoon gun through school fence.
He had an array of air gun
Shoryuken stars
Numb chucks.
And yes a harpoon gun.

He cut all the boxes open and took all the game cartridges.

He had a mega pc.
He always had the consoles from new..

Shocking behaviour.
Classic bad kid from broken home.
Plus actually had a schizm in his brain
His eyes where off, one was lazy the other just would flick to the side..
Where he played way to much console games.

He played hang on once in my house all day..

But cex still suck!

CEX in Blackpool is the most vile, EVERYTHING smells like scratched ass in there with staff retching BO like a tramps armpit , and the doorway smelling of piss. ( not like I sniff those ) nothing is cleaned and everything is so over priced compared to Ebay. What surprised me few years ago was a 10" tablet for sale second hand that was more than a brand new one from currys that was the next gen . How can this store still be worth trading.

People are trading them in though!!

Just sell it yourself on ebay. Don't get people trading things in for next to nothing
