Solved Choplifter to Wonderboy monster land conversion - no scroling graphics??

Hello,

Here is my attempt to convert an sega Choplifter PCB to wonderboy monsterland. I did the conversion using this two romsets: wbmlvcd and wbml as per this thread: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/choplifter-to-wonderboy-monsterland-conversion.507039/
I burned the six eproms from the wbmlvcd and the rest from the wbml. The game apears to run fine but there is no scroling graphics? I must have missed something.
Anybody know what could be the issue here? The PCB with the coplifter ROMs works fine.

I compared it to my other wonder boy monsterland.

Tha boards are not the same. The original one is 171-5313-2 and the choplifter is 171-5313. There are some differences between them. The guy on klov hast the 171-5313-2 revision.

Anybody knows if there is anything I can do to get the wonder boy running on it?

Today I put the original choplifter eproms from the 171-5313 board in my wonder boy monsterland 171-5313-2 board. The board dose not boot unless I manualy hold the reset line high. After it boots, it gives an BAD IC3 error. Original eproms back and it boots and works just fine.
So I assume the 3rd revision (171-5313-2) can't run choplifter and the first revision (171-5313) can't run wonder boy.

I'm done with it and I'll sell the board as choplifter in its original state.

No luck here.

I will make some instructions when I'm done with all the conversions I have in mind. So far I got Gardia, Wonderboy and Wonderboy monsterland running.

One needs to burn the wbmlvcd romset. For the IC10, I patched the wboysys2 romset using the ArcadeRomPatcher found on this forum. This patch will generate an jed file required for the IC10 gal16v8. The patch will also generate an schematic for the IC74 (that green "blank" small PCB). the schematic is different then mine but it should work as well.

This sould be it. For Gardia is a little more work since it involves saving the data and opcodes using mame then combine them.

Pitfall2 board can run wonderboy 1. Wonderboy2 is sega system2, unfortunatly.

I thought that but looking at the CPP shows the game on system 1. I have just relooked at the .CPP and it says System 1 & 2 , I missed that !!

Will have to convert to Wonderboy and then swap it for a Wonderboy 2 or choplifter :cool:
