Modern cabs look good with friends but I'm stopping at 3 ;) I didn't really need the 3rd as its just a Noir V5 really but it was hard to pass up a 2018 cab in such good condition not something we hobbyist usually get to have normally decades old & battered.

Speaker grill very faded to how they should be around edge
Can see why the sound would be quite decent on these cabs, because they are proper speaker boxes, completely enclosed just for speakers with hole in the side, apart from cables going through the hole could be like a bass port, wonder if they would sound better sealed? probably experiment with that when it's up and running but nice to see they are decent size speaker boxes

BlueNoir014.jpg

Left speaker is pretty bad, it wouldn't even move to start so will have to test and see if it's going to work, surround is shot it's not even attached to the sides of metal frame any more as well as the 2 splits in edge

Strangely the right speaker is fine

If you are looking for replace the speakers I used these when I did mine:

Visaton FRS 8 - 8 Ohm Round High Power Fullrange Speaker 8cm

I still have the originals if anyone needs them.

Slightly newer ex Gundam units came with the LED strip instead of flo.

I found one speaker that's pretty much same size, question is do I have 2 lol, got 2 boxes full of speakers from all sorts of things so probably have something, will try to repair original if it's working and just needs new foam see what they sound like, don't mind replacing them if you can improve on it

Got some quite serious issues with the rusted Control Panel Top. Nothing we can't sort though, thank god for dremel type tools
The problem with things like this is when there is metal overlapping it doesn't get painted till after it's spot welded together and those parts don't see any paint so it rusts from inside more

Rusted loads between the two metal layers, the rust has expanded the metal and pushed the top layer out in those 2 areas so only one thing for it

Time to cut it out
drill the spot welds and replace the metal, luckily most of the bad part is the top and under is just a bit pitted

Before I can weld in some new metal I want to kill all the rust, The main issue is pitted metal as nothing gets into all the minute pits unless its submerged could use the bilt hamber hydrate 80 or the other stuff I bought previously that's supposed to convert the rust but it didn't work on car parts that were pitted so that probably doesn't get into all the pits completely either. It's probably fine on metal that's rusted but not pitted so now I sandblast things, treat it in rust remover liquid submerged fully though the Bilt hamber Gel is good for things you can't, cover that over with clingfilm so it doesn't dryout though, after killing the rust I sandblast again and then paint, the metal under where i'm welding new in I'll spray the inside parts with weld through primer
but I need a long plastic box to put it in with the liquid, also need something for bigger car parts so I'm going to pop over to these guys when I've got the Troll Machine out the car or which I might do today as weather isn't good after a lovely day of Sun yesterday

The blue ones are 1000 x 400 x 100
They have Grey 1000 x 400 x 200

A few in varying sizes would be great. I did have a really big storage box, the cheaper ones in shops that came with a job lot of junk, left it in the garden upside down through winter, the sun, the heat, the cold completely destroyed it where you could just press it with ya foot and it just fell apart. That's why I buy 2nd hand products that were top quality and will last though i won't leave them outside still

I don't know if I have photo's of the Star Wars speakers before cleaning them but this is what all the compacted dust did to the surround, completely deformed it on that edge but still okay
