Contines on Alien syndrome

ok today so vamino came round to catch up and have a chat , Anyway we was having a blast on Alien syndrome 2 player
and you cant continue , i knew this to be the fact as i looked at the dip settings when i got the pcb, and wanted to continue but could'nt ?
my memory not being great had to check hahaha
ian thought it was a bit odd as well , is there a option for a rom swop . continue mode ??

I only played it on C64 in 80s so not sure on Arcade but then again you can't continue on OutRun

Have a look in mame to see if any variations have a continue.

I use to play this alot bitd can't remember getting a continue in a 1 player game but could be wrong but I'm sure in a 2 player game if a player was still on the screen playing and one person died you could continue.

Ah, we both died at the same time during a boss fight, and I was sure you could continue until the final level or something.
