Understand the best version of this outside of the arcade is considered to be the Dreamcast.

My wife was wanting to get the best version of it after weirdly, suddenly becoming obsessed with it in an arcade bar recently.

...it was the stipulation of 'you really need a wheel though' that got me 😂

Although I'd love a full size cabinet of it, not really practical at the moment so I'm on the fence of trying to pickup a Dreamcast or delving into DC emulation with the hope of getting a cheap thrustmaster wheel and pedal set going with it?

Dreamcast one is great, you could get Thrustmaster wheel and pedals for them which was better than the DC Official and Mad Katz one like I have just encase which is Sofa Friendly design depending where you play it, can download ISO and burn on CD

There is a version in steam, Ive got it but never actually tried it but it doesnt have the original Music.

You can add the original music with a patch though.

Review Here of the cd-rom release which should be the same version, a quick google will likely show a few "download" options.

I remember having the pc version years ago but it never feeling the same, wasn't the analytical sort back then but it makes sense now with LGR saying it couldn't do 60fps.

this is one game i have never really "got", i guess in the arcade it may have been fantastic, but on a console...i dont get it at all
First thing is you need to press accelerator pedal and quickly press shifter something like that.. to take off fast, else you don't get far, its great game though when you can get further, that's where you'll probably have issues with home version
