Yes, I was looking at that. Modulator aside it does seem to be pretty similar to what mame already does? I suppose emulating the modulator would be okay for people who never had a monitor for their home computer back in the day. The real question is are any of these display emus actually any good yet? I just fired up my Space Harrier after six years and the display looks a lot different to the 'clean' image you get on a modern monitor using mame.

That effect isn't emulation, it's barely even simulation. It's just an impression. And it could be done better. I'm hoping someone will pick up on using a high resolution LCD to simulate a CRT shadowmask correctly. It'll probably look awful, but I'd like to see the attempt made.
