Hi gents
I'm after some recommendations for a good de soldering station.
For removing ic,s from pcbs.(taito operation wolf as one tight holed pcb for example)
I've seen soo many different types.
But can anyone give me a heads up.
Cheers
Phil

I have this one.... https://cpc.farnell.com/duratool/d00672/desoldering-station-uk-eu-plug/dp/SD01384?CMP=TREML007-005

I havent used it a great deal, but I have done a couple of cap kits on monitor chassis, including LOPT removals, and it was superb.

I've got this one too. Works very well. Recently used for a big job to desolder a load of roms for a Taito F3 conversion, and managed to do it perfect with no damage of solder pads/traces. set to around 330deg C

Depends on how much desoldering your going to do. If it is not much then a cheaper one will probably do. If you are going to be doing quite a bit I'd invest in something like a Hakko.

I have the new Hakko, and have used the old hakko, and I think the new one is pretty decent.

Or maybe keep an eye out for a 2nd hand Metcal MFR-PS2K. They are supposed to be decent and I've seen some for some good prices

Has anyone tried using desoldering needles ? - I may buy a set to try as they are really cheap.
