Hi all,

Can anyone recommend some good shooters in the 0-£200 price range?

Looking for Raiden & Bullet hell type stuff as opposed to your Galaga, Galixian, 1942 stuff.

Thanks

Dave

Around 200:

Strikers 1945

Blazing Star(MVS)

Raiden Fighters (only if you're lucky)

Raiden II

Most other good stuff is (way) more expensive.

One of the best shooters is Raiden DX, which can be found for around 250-300 nowadys.

Cheers buddy.

Got all of them but you’re pricing right they were all less than £200 apart from one.

Just about everything keeps creeping up in price. Especially anything remotely popular.

You can pickup PGM conversion carts of ketsui, dodonpachi daioujou, and Espgaluda for around £110 off aliexpress. That is about your best bang per buck for a vertical shmup.

Another option for cheap shmups is buying a Taito GNet motherboard that has a mod bios. You can then flash several memory cards with various shmups on the system.

Should be able to pick up a progear conversion cart under £200 too which is a good game

ASO is my recommendation.Vastly underrated game

This.

Brilliant little game.

The hitbox is a bit too big for my liking but even with that I love the game.

It has that Star Force feel and look about it.

Two above are both good shouts but have them on AES for my sins.

I should probably say Neo Geo ones can be ignored for this purpose as I’ll have them all on Console or MVS.

Seems like a really hard task this one!

I have the ASO pcb or Arian Mission as it is known by.Its also known as Alpha Mission as well.Confusing!
Its a shooter with some pretty unique features such as collecting parts of your ship to transform into a range of other ships.Tying in to the Transformers craze when it came out maybe?
Unfortunately I brought MY board a few months ago and before I even had a chance to play it,I dropped it and its dead now

Are Mars Matrix and Giga Wing still under £200? There's also Gunbird which was about £80 when I bought it a few years back. There's also Vapor Trail, is that still a cheap one? I'm out of touch with the prices of games since they all started doubling in price each year.
