So, I have a DK I’m converting but it doesn’t have the service panel and wiring. I have the loom that goes from the transformer to the monitor, but the monitor won’t power on without the harness for the power switch and demag button.

Is there anyone that could repro it or at least give me a list of the connections and pins I need to make one?

So, you're using the original loom, but missing the switch panel.

I would just make a mock up of the panel, using the relevant switches for power, damage, service and test.

That way, A) you don't need to hack the loom, which is always good, and
B) you will able to get the functionality of the demag, service and test menus.

Doesn't have to be the most glamorous looking panel as only you will ever see it.

Yeah, original loom minus the part that connects to the demag and power. I’ve had a look at from what I can gather they look like JST-VL connections?

Is this the loom you are missing?

Unfortunately, this is not spare as it’s from one of my cabinets.

Give it a day or so and if someone else doesn’t have this loom spare that they can pass onto you, then over the weekend I can take some close-up photos of the connectors and mark the pinouts. Hopefully then you can make up a replacement.

Yeah, that’s the one.

I already have two cabs I previously converted, so getting the pinouts isn’t an issue. It’s more making sure I order the right parts that I’m bothered about.

I believe those connectors are indeed the JST VL series.

They look to me to be the following:-
6 Way Socket; VLR-06V
3 Way Plug; VLP-03V
Pin Contact; SVM-42T-P2.0
Socket Contact; SVF-42T-P2.0

I’ve never ordered any of these previously, can anyone else confirm?

No idea on the connector to the Matsushita on/off rocker switch. However, if you are making up your own loom and using a different switch it is irrelevant anyway.

Aren’t the connections to the on/off switch just the standard 4.8mm quick disconnect spades?

This is a 6way female and so is his
And 3 way male and so is his ?

Sega tech just wiring genders any way
Round on the day — doesn’t matter
Just saying yours wouldn’t work anyways

JST sockets and Pin information sounds sane off the top of my head but I'd need to double check with mine (sadly not in a very convienient position to get to the back of currently).
I can certainly provide wiring and connector info if you want to make your own loom. For the panel itself I have some of the internal sega sheet metal if you don't have any from your strip out - I actually always wanted to make my own mini service panel mod to sit above the coin box, freeing up the top shelf for more game pcb space.

Be aware the degauss button + wiring is full high voltage stuff on that panel. The sega degauss switch is totally different to the others, has a lot more insulation and so on. For the others, the rocker just needs to be 110v rated and I have spares of the red buttons yeah, if Ian doesn't still have his on sale.

Pins I've ordered in the past are SYF-41T-P-0.5A / SYM-41T-P0.5A. These were for elsewhere in the cab so normal input, voltages.
It wouldn't suprise me if yes, the pins in the monitor circuit are rated at a higher current (2.0A rather than 0.5A sounds sane).

Plugs are indeed JST-YLR0xV and JST-YLP0xV where x is the number of pin sockets

Some good stuff here Flinnster. I’m going to hold out for a while in the hopes of finding the harness from someone that has ‘upgraded’ to an LCD.

Worst case scenario is I’ll source a 4:3 flat panel and just stick a Pandora in the cab as I have a few that are currently not being used.

Just to clarify, the YL series connectors are the smaller 4.5mm pitch connectors (eg. the control panel, video monitor connector, coin door etc.,). The VL series are used for the larger 6.2mm pitch connectors (ie., for the power and PSU) wiring.
This info is shown in the wiring diagram which Flinnster posted above.

Ah sorry yep you're right. Just checked my stuff from JST for the front door. My bad!
