Took the front panel off this morning, not done this before but not too too big a deal and will certainly make life easier to spray the insides, front and CP
Hey Ol, certainly more in depth on this DK compared to others
Next step is to steam clean the base of the cab as it's not great with my awesome new steamer i'll then leave the cab to dry and take a trip to the paint shop tomorrow as I hope to be passing.
It did come off ok, not too bad but obviously time needs to be taken as splitting the timber would be pretty easy. The screws/staples are indeed through the wooden blocks.
Nice work PAC-MAN. I'm assuming you're spraying it? If so, what type of paint are you using, car paint or water/oil based thinned down for the gun?
Cheers,
I'm taking the rattle can route now. The other two DK's were Cellulose, but I think Cellulose has since been banned? I'm speaking to the paint shop later and will know more.
These cans are pretty rapid, not quite like the Halfords type. The nozzles are pretty cool. The jet is wide and they empty pretty quick. I've done quite a few like this.....quick & clean.
It was ok, it was held in pretty well with glue, screws & staples but it came away ok. I'll definitely do it on the next one as it will save time in the long run and it will be a better job overall. Just need to take some time as the front panel will split pretty easily.
If you decide to spray your Popeye, you can always bring it over and do it at mine. There could be a few laughs involved though and possibly some cock ups
Cheers,
Al
*edit - and loads of cups of Tea!*
