I know this is an Arcade forum, But is there anyone on here interested in target shooting?

With the laws about to change here in Scotland in regard to Air Rifles I'm thinking about selling mine.

One is a BSA AirSporter .22 With new double sealed piston head and Ox Extra spring.

Other is a Relum Tornado .22 Piston seal replaced and both inner and outer springs replaced.

Both have scopes.

If it's legal, then it's fine

If you want to sell them then you may want to stick an add in the "Non Arcade Items For Sale" section...

One proviso, that is as long as there are no legal restrictions on selling them or anything like that which I wouldn't have a barking clue about. I would appreciate your honesty and openness on whether you are legally permitted to sell them or not before formally putting them up.

Unsure really ? EBay defo not, even crossbows but recurves and compounds yes .wierd. I know with air rifles even buying second hand from dealer or sporting shops UK has a gun register for the barell serial. How do we know you have kept to the power rating and not changed spring ect and gone over 12ft pounds, so gun certificate needed. I go regularly to bow club and even restrictions there for sales on sh air rifles. Could be complications for here and yourself, my advise take to a dealer and take a hit on price. Thanks for that input.

Based on that early feedback alone, I would rather them not be advertised on here. By all means discuss them in the off-topic section, but if there are registers and possible gun laws implications and stuff like that, then sorry.

Thanks guys, Thats why I was asking if it was ok.

From what I've been told from a local shop that here in Scotland I have till about the end of July to get them sold. After that I would need to register them, then apply for a license witch I dont think I would get as you have to have a need to have one and I don't need to have them.

The Relum has been in the family since new so I know it's never been used for anything dodgy, the BSA I got in bits from a local shop about 15 years ago. I don't have anyway of testing to see if they are over the 12Lbs/ft. I do think they are right on it though.

Was kinda hoping someone on here might have fancyed them and been able to swap for something of interest.

I know you have to be very careful, I used to buy air rifles from my local gun dealer, keep them a couple of months, then trade them in towards different ones just to get a varied selection to use, without having to store them all.

Every time he took proof of identity and reported the sale/trade to the local police constabulary, in case any crimes where committed with one in the area.

Recently he stopped allowing this as he said its to much trouble looking the gun over and making sure its not been messed with.

So I got rid of them and just kept the one with the most sentimental value.

So as I private seller I would either sell them through a dealer, or use a website such as Gunstar etc, but would highly recommend going through a dealer as you don't wont the police knocking on your door if some one buys it who is underage, or commits a crime with it and says they got it from you.

Thanks.

Thing is with the new laws coming in everyone is off loading their air guns so most shops are not taking anything in.

Think there's one shop in Glasgow that might take them in as trade ins for fishing gear. And I've not fished for years and have more gear than I know what to do with.
