I'm not long back from today's raid. Those of you following the for sale section recently will have seen my thread with all the driving cabs up for grabs. Well, today was the day and what a day it turned out to be.
We were there from 11am - 8pm, and everyone left with their car/van absolutely full to the brim.

I've got some pics and stuff to write up, but I'm shattered so I'll write it up tomorrow. The other guys took pics as well so they will be able to post in here also.

Un-ber-f*cking-believable day!!

That's all I've got to say for now as like all the other guys there on the day I'm beat.

Just want to say a massive thanks to Olly (Alpha1) and Olly (muddymusic) for being legends making it all possible. My first proper op raid in 15 years in the hobby and well worth the wait for sure! Much appreciated guys

Hi guys.

I followed the previous thread with great interest and envy. But with big wedding here on Sunday, spends are super tight.

Anyhow it sounds like it lived up to expectations with everyone properly worn out. Especially Olly (Muddymusic) who would appear from the title to have gone on a deep sea DIVING raid!

Looking forward to seeing the photos.

I've seen a few pics looked a great day with some serious tetris skillz to get so much into vans and cars lol. Also saw some pics of a cab that wasn't on the list but had been bought.... (when that is revealled you may need some kleenex handy...)

Jeez, my legs are screwed today. We had to wheel a load of cabs to the scap pile over gravel....not easy!

So pics are coming now.

At the raid were: Me (muddymusic), Alpha1, tb2000, garysmith2001, panpar227, anj + mate.

I got there at 11am to start numbering cabs. I'm pleased to say I didn't screw up and double up on anything, so everyone who bought a cab will be getting a cab!

By 12 we had the first batch of 7 down which made it a lot easier to get around. How anj managed to fit 7 cockpits in his van I don't know, but they went in!

Gary wasn't actually buying a cab, but got quite exited to be involved it's fair to say.

It was quite a sight watching the forklift carry a twin cab down from that height.

As it's the end of summer season there were a lot of cabs back that weren't there before, having been taken off site and brought back for servicing. And I mean a LOT!

A row of 10 Rally 2 cabs.

A row of Daytona 2's

There were also a good lot of OutRun 2's and probably 10 F355 1&2 cabs. I'm pretty sure from the fault sheets a few of these won't be going back out, so will probably end up in the graveyard area where we pulled all the other cabs from, so there will be a good reason to revisit this in 6 months or so.

Mario Karts were in abundance too, all in really good shape whereas the Sega drivers are all starting to look a bit tired.

There were also some Afterburner climax SDLX and DLX cabs back off site, looked like they had taken a bit of a pounding which made me a little bit sad - of course that's exactly what they are made for, but the last 2 I looked at here we in lovely shape.

One of Sega's modern racers. This is an updated Daytona but without the licensing.

Spotted a Dino King and Love & Berry cab but they weren't part of the op's stock.

Wow, I guess we really will start seeing a lot of OR2 cabs about soon. Wouldn't mind betting some of those were Jap imports.

If you do go back in 6 months I'll be making sure I have cash ready!

By the time we'd got all the cabs down it was about 3pm. A word of advice - if you ever do a raid take plenty of food and drink! I didn't take anything and after a few hours shifting cabs around you certainly need some sustenance.
A trip to the garage was made to grab some giant bottles of coke and choc bars, thanks to panpar

We settled up the bill for all the cabs, and then went for a hunt for spares ready to do some more deals. The pile of stuff was epic. We had 4 decent sized cars there and didn't leave with any space unused!

My stuff is still in my car so I'll do some pics of exactly what I got later. Here's the last of my photos from the day.

There was a load of new stuff in the main parts room since we last visited. We all had a proper rummage.

Some of the hardware we picked up. Tony (tb2000) must have found 15-20 Hantarex Polo chassis!

Then we went out back where we were allowed to take anything we wanted for free. So the skip raiding went on for about 3 hours until it was almost completely dark outside.

There was a Daytona 2 twin and a Sega Rally 2 twin just sat there - both 100% complete!

I think he squeezed in about 10 monitors, and a 50" rear projection tv. F*ck knows how

Tony needs to enter the Tetris world championships. I thought he was crazy when he turned up in an estate car having bought 4 cabs, a RPTV and loads of spares.

By then end of the day I still thought he was crazy, but he had managed to fit everything in

Hey - it was 5 cabs not 4
smiley36.gif

I think it's safe to say we could have easily taken a load more stuff with more space and time but had to draw a line somewhere.

Thanks for the coke dude. Seriously, I was about to keel over!
