Is it just me or is this sh*t customer service.

I ordered a CD rack of ebay £50

Did not arrive and seller told me he had sent it. The tracking number provided did not show a delivery.

No joy trying to resolve with seller directly.

I opened a case in ebay and that was closed down as as if by magic he evidenced a delivery to my address which was tracked. Note that was sent after I opened the case !

I remember that delivery well , as I thought some con was going on. A hermes tracked delivery of 6 sheets of paper, that had no sender details on it !

Luckily my hermes delivery driver delivered two parcels at same time and my ring door bell shows it was an envelope delivered not a huge CD rack. It also shows me going who has sent me paper ?

Even on re-opening the case via telephone call centre , I was advised to send my evidence of the con , not to ebay but to the seller !!

I told them I dont want anything else to do with the seller. SO they re-opened the case and told me I would need to re-send back the paper. f**k that I have sent a note to the seller, stating I assume he does not want his paper back.

So if you get stuff you did not order they are just trying to get a tracking reference ! I had heard people do that with catalogue stuff. You deliver something cheap to a house to get the go ahead to order new stuff then change the address etc

Dunno what anyone can do about this since we can't even sign for stuff at the moment. What feedback did the seller have?

Report it to the police.

Clear case of fraud and notify eBay and PayPal that you’re doing that.

You might see a bit more traction for all parties if they know the fuzz are getting involved.

Granted the police might do shag all, but the threat might get you some movement.

Have you got an address on PayPal for the seller? Could go and set fire to his house?

Wont post the video but that small envelope their is the 180 CM high CD rack !

This is off RING doorbell that also catches me saying, whose posted me bloody paper ?

The other box is also a tracked hermes delivery so I can easily proof the CD rack was not delivered.

I ordered some ic socket adapters from a uk seller, and something arrived that was not the adapters I ordered, the pitch was incorrect and the quality was terrible, the seller was having none of it,so I thought I would open a case,as I went through the procedure an ebay warning message popped up,saying I had been reported for miss use of ebay resolution centre and could not continue with this case,I got straight on the phone to them asking what was going on,and they said a seller had reported me,I asked for the user id,and they said they could not give it to me due to data protection, but no prizes for guessing who it was,I sent ebay pictures of the items I received compared to the listing, and they re opened the case, and the seller messaged me asking "how did you open this case?",I rang ebay again and they refunded me straight away after I showed them the message.A lot of faffing about but I did get my money back

eBay has got to the point I just won't sell on there any more and very rarely do I buy on there now either. It means a lot of stuff that I could otherwise get money for selling ends up down the tip but that's far less hassle. Also, nobody is interested in collecting anything anymore (I mean long before lockdown).

It's just not worth the grief. Most of my stuff goes to the recycle centre.

Same here...got shafted twice with buyers on Feebay, Payscam weren't interested as certain buyers know all the tricks...

I now 'only' buy stuff that I can collect and pay cash for...am happy to collect at the moment too, love empty roads and loud bass...

Yeah I know what you mean. There was some motorbike wheels and stuff in the back of a van I bought earlier this year (before lockdown) from a local vehicle salvage/breakers yard. It still looked serviceable to me so i've stuck it on eBay as a job lot. Had views but no bids and no watchers, probably because i've put collection only (which eBay told me I must still accept Paypal for!) Looked at previous completed auctions and these motorbike parts do sell so it's probably because I won't post. Might look at relisting saying i'll strap it to a pallet (all the stuff packed together is quite heavy) but the buyer will have to sort the collection.

Wow I watched the whole clip and it is truly shocking.

I was hoping to post advise once I had got this sorted but its still not been refunded.

I opened a case in ebay which was automated shutdown as they provided tracking number.

I opened a case in paypal and they did the same.

I appealed the ebay decision and provided ring doorbell evidence, courier evidence of the weight of the package.

All looked good till I then got mail quoted with some bits removed below.

Presently after hours of work my end the original case on paypal has been closed, they have opened a new case of "item not as described", rather than the item not being delivered.

This is no longer about the money, and speaking to some people they have had exactly the same con and its recognized by ebay.

Yet there is little advise on how to protect yourself. Even with a lot of evidence my end the process is slow and painful.

This was from ebay after posting the evidence up.

Hello Darren, Thank you for contacting us at eBay Customer Support in relation to the return case for the item " XXXXXXX purchased from seller "xxxxxxxx". I'm glad to assist you. I appreciate your efforts for helping us with the requested document. I do realize that you have not received you CD rack and have received some empty envelope and some toys and are concerned about your refund. Rest assured; I really want to make sure that I have covered all the essential aspects pertaining to your concern. Upon further scrutiny of your transaction I noticed that you have already opened a dispute on PayPal for this transaction. I would like to inform you that because PayPal is our payment gateway any case opened on PayPal takes precedence over a case on eBay. Therefore in your case since the PayPal dispute was initiated while an eBay case was already in progress the eBay case gets closed automatically. Having stated the above at this stage as the buyer the dispute on PayPal pretty much serves as your best possible option. Please ensure that you keep in contact with PayPal. Below are the details you would require to contact PayPal PayPal dispute id : xxxxxxx 0800 358 9448. This is a Free phone number from a UK land line 00353 1 436 9004 (international call charges may apply). I’m optimistic that you will get you refund soon. For your future transactions I would recommend you not to open a PayPal dispute until the case on eBay gets resolved because if PayPal dispute gets opened we would not be able to help you with a resolution from our end. Thank you for being a valuable member of eBay. Kind Regards, xxxxx . eBay Customer Support

Ebay is not worth bothering with unless you can afford to lose money
I listed about a hundred and fiftey quality car cleaning/detailing products before lockdown trying to start a small car products side buisness for a bit of extra pocket money

The ammount of people i had trying to clame that items had not arrived was crazy
Trying to get refunds and free items
People begging you to sell them brand new items for pennies through ebays offer system which it hounds you with non stop
Telling you to lower prices
And ebay trying to push sponsered listings to you to try and get more of a cut
You will get plenty of views but no buyers
Unless you undercut everyone

Its just full of people that dont want to spend any money and scammers that try and get everything for free
And ebay will side with them and paypal in most cases and will lock any money you have got untill the paypal gods decide your fate
While charging you as much as they can squeeze out of you every month in fees

The scammers know all of the tricks and ways round ebays policy the sending an empty box for tracking seems to be a common one now

Ebays dead its just not worth the hassle
Its easyer to just give old stuff away
Or to charity
