Hi all,
Just looking for some help.
Bought something on eBay (not arcade related) for about £80. Arrived not as described, after taking them a fortnight before posting it, so I contracted the seller and they basically said it is as described, tough. Asked eBay to step in and they decided I should be refunded and sent me a Royal Mail tracked 48hr returns label. Printed it off and returned the item which has now been delivered back to the seller.

For some bizarre reason it won’t let me add the tracking number to the return, every time I’ve tried I either get a server error or a message saying it’s an invalid number and it’s still showing as an outstanding action on my part which is odd as the tracking number is clearly on the return label which eBay generated for me. I’ve tried to add it god knows how many times but still no joy. Emailed the seller to ask when I’ll be refunded and surprise, surprise I’ve been ignored. Tried the help pages on eBay and just get the automated chat.

Anyone had a similar experience or have a number so I can actually speak to a person?

Getting to speak to an actual person these days is a nightmare. Not just talking about ebay, it's every company. Does the RM website recognize the tracking number?

If you have used the label they provided for you then you don't need to add tracking hence the error. eBay automatically tracks the return labels they create.

Once it's been delivered eBay will automatically refund you 2 days after (if the seller doesn't before then). It's all automated, used it many times myself as eBay these days is an absolute joke.

Yep, the RM website recognises the the tracking number and shows all of the steps from me dropping it off at the post office all the way to being it being received by the seller.

Good to know it’s all automated, so thanks for that, that’s a big relief.

Shame eBay don’t automatically populate that field when the parcel is scanned at the post office then you’d be able to see that eBay knows that it’s been returned by their label to the seller and give you a bit of reassurance, rather than me scratching my head as to why it won’t accept the tracking number and I’m guessing this happens to thousands of folk every day

I called EBay on Monday and had a call back within 20 seconds, the woman on the telephone was very helpful and refunded my over charged selling fees in minutes.

Give them a try I was pleasantly surprised.
