Family PC (purchasing) advice

Right its time to drag my ass out of the early 2004s into the now in terms of a computer, the laptop (Compac C310EA) I have is now ancient and hanging off one hinge....and sooooo slow.

I need to buy a new proper PC with monitor/s, faster the better, not entirely sure what I need to be looking for in terms of tech, it will mainly be used for net surfing, downloading, a bit of online gaming and general work using mainly word/excel, suitable for kids (with homework) and adults.

Any ideas of where the best place to get one from is at reasonable cost, I want it to last for a long time!

Terry aka bbz149 has sold me a few laptops for friends and family as well as myself.

He always comes up with something suitable for your needs that isn't going to cost a fortune and his service is superb.

Although they are used, they are far better value than buying new. Certainly if you are like me and not interested in doing anything that requires a lot of processing power.

I have also bought from Terry, 4 actually (for home and family) and an NEC projector. I personally use the dell 9020 from him ,i5 8gb ssd drive (new in box) .... bloody great !!! We have all been satisfied and pleased with them, I don't openly state or put my word for other people unless they are really up to the top notch, and Terry is.

Couple of weeks ago I bought a brand new in box i5 sff off him.
Lovely machine and great for emulation if your into it.
There was even a brand new mouse and keyboard in mine which was a pleasant surprise as he never said in his post
