Fun little glitch I've discovered - Rave Racer

Keep your eye on what gear I'm in

Basically keep behind the red car and when you go over the jump before the tunnel, jump over and bounce on top of the red car and then as you do this drop the gears down to 1st and enjoy.

It takes some practice but is great fun when you achieve it. The car goes stupidly fast!

I was going to keep it to myself and do just that but I don't really like Rave Racer too much and also, there isn't even a score sheet on TG for Rave Racer (arcade) yet.

This doesn't work on Ridge Racer 1 or 2 I tried it on my cab earlier.

Good bit of fun though, if i were to take the time you could actually drive around the corners at that speed.

I seem to remember being able to hit the helicopter in RR1 on the PSX if you timed a jump right - is that right or did I imagine it?

I don't think you can no.

On the arcade version the heli hovers over the bridge that i do the glitch on for Rave Racer if you were to be able to go fast enough like you can on the PS version you could hit it easily but the arcade version plays a lot different and slower.

Do you know if this is just an emulation glitch or does it also work on original hardware?

It will work on original hardware too.

Have you tried it on proper hardware as Rave Racer emulation isn't quite perfect yet, as seen by the cars slightly dropping through the floor at the beginning of the race.

Either way, it's still an interesting glitch.

Actually I haven't no but i really see no reason why it won't work. I'm 99% sure it will but I guess I could be wrong.

Sadly I only have RR 1 and RR 2 boards so i can't try it here, anyone got one to give it a go? haha!

Yeah it works on proper hardware, have done it quite a bit in the past.
