Just posting a technical help request for my Gorf machine

I emailed a few people already but I am guessing they are too busy to help

This is a nice project cab which although has some messed up wiring I hope will be an easy fix to get working again.

It has working monitor and gamecage but at some point was rewired for Jamma then hacked back again to run the orginal gorf game!

please see the images, you may notice 2 loose wires [in the centre]. You can see the 2 loose wires [with masking tape on] and looking at the adaptor terminals there are 2 of them which have solder on where it looks like the wires came from.

one connects to " f at the end on the jamma side, connects to ground? " TOP PICTURE

one connects to " jamma pin 23 ..connects to button 2? " BOTTOM PICTURE

i don't want to connect the wrong one and damage the gameboard or something

this is my last chance before I put the project on hold as I am taking a break to focus on family/other projects

hopefully I will keep the cab regardless but dont want it to remain a non worker and be tempted to sell it!

the back up plan is to try to rewire the full loom back in, most or all of which I think I have in a box

any ideas?

Great result a fully working machine, thanks again

I definately owe you one!

I will try and get some pics taken of the working machine asap!!

ok an update

found that on one of the multiblocks the conectors were in poor shape, some of the bullet connectors are mishaped and collapsing back when you try and connect the blocks together so I need to be reminded how to pull the bullets out so I can replace and repair some?!

also I identified most of the connections on my original wiring loom, I need to take another look but I may be able to plug this back into the cab and bypass the jamma hacked cabling, but might be a bigger job than I hoped as the loom is messed about on this in lots of places

if anyone has a spare Bally GORF power supply that fits the cab please do pm me [with price too!] as then I can just plug it in and don't have to use the jamma supply

Hiya mate - congrats on getting another Gorf up and running, it's one of the true classics!
As regards the PSU, I'd suggest you keep the switcher in there. I pulled my original PSU out years ago at the recommendation of Skitz (are you still around dude?) and put in the switcher and it's never missed a beat since. :)

I installed a new marquee, also sanded the marquee retainers, I thought it would be nice to add a photo or two....

the brand new marquee, a repro but it looks amazing as gone are some
of the blotchiness that the orginal suffered from - [see above, a limitation or symptom of the design/printing technique],

Cool! Full size UK jobbie like mine! Mine's the only one I've seen so far with a smoked bezel over the for some odd reason.
I like the marquee too, the colours look great! What bulbs you using to illuminate - energy savers?

OK do you mean the monitor glass is smoked?

Its the original strip light I think don't know the spec though
the rest of the cab the lights don't work so that will be another job!
