I had the data east version. It was awesome (use the force, always) and eventually paid for my wedding when I sold it for it's true value. I did let the 3 wheel off road go for the same price that I paid for it though, it was far too big for my house.

Both around the late 90's: Fully working (even one of the blacklights), near mint DoT upright, offered £75 the nice chap told me I could have ot for £60 and maybe the huge pile of PCBs I got from one of the arcades at Benbom Bros/Dreamland in Margate for £50. In both cases the ops absolutely knew they were doing me a favour and they were being generous. Still, it's always the ones that were missed that makes me cry, and I can thnk of two examples. I'm sure this thread has been done a few times now, for a laugh have a search and see how many times I have contradicted myself

When I was hunting for Cave PCB's usually through Japanese stores, I found one closing down with a Cave boxed Ketsui for just over £200, needless to say I still own it, box was mint and I got £50 for it lol!

A few cabs come to mind, back when they were given away a lot of the time! OutRun for £90 buy-it-now on ebay. Euro Dig Dug for £60 or something like that.
The day we picked up a whole stack of midi cabs in fantastic condition all working with MVS boards in each one for a bargain was a good day too.

I miss the days we used to meet up at JNC and be able to help ourselves to all the parts cabs out the back, pulled 3 working chihiros out of some scrapped HOTD3 cabs that had been sat out in the rain.

About 12 years ago me and a friend were given a working Twister pinball for free. The guy just wanted to get rid of it and was happy to see it go

In November 2012, I purchased a Donkey Kong upright (blue) from Germany (Pauls 50's) With the conversion from Euro, the cab delivered cost £457.59.

It was sold as unworking although it turned out to be working 100% once the PCB had been wired up properly.

It did need work, it ended up having a major overhaul but a great deal all the same.

Bargain. Yes it's the one's that get away as well that hurts. I missed the chance of owning a 1942 cab i used to play when i was a kid in a cafe on a local high street. It came up on ebay and i missed it just as it sold 😥 It only went for £110 on bids and was around the corner for collection. Gutted

I wouldn't want to depress people with many of the prices I've paid over the years but a 4 player bargain Jamma cab on ebay right now, it's like going back 15+ years with prices like that now

Definitely a great deal on a classic 😊 I remember i used to go to a little arcade on the Isle of Sheppey and they had the Popeye cab that no one seemed to play in the later 80s. Then one of the last times i was in there about 1990 the cab was at the back of the arcade switched off and with a for sale sticker on it! £35 !! I wanted it so bad but didn't have the money or couldn't get it back to london. Ouch. Someone got a bargain.

Crazy deals, well done 😀 Enduro Racer such a fun cab. The mechanics on pulling back on the jumps just felt so right.

Looked like a bootleg in it. The seller had tried to change the board and it was hacked in as the jamma harness and 3/4 player connector had been disconnected but there was some kind of hack to one of the proms. My guess is the cab likely doesn't work so the whole thing is a punt. £100ish probably about right as still got to pay the costs of transporting it and the time involved (if doing it yourself). A working jamma cab can be bought for £200 to £250 these days so most would go for the worker I reckon.
