Looking at a Hantarex MTC-9300 with a videocolor A86ECT13X01, anyone know what size these screens are ?, seller says he thinks 32", and googling it it comes up as a 100hz, anyone know if this is the case or what it actually might be - might pick it up to replace a smaller screen with burnin problems in one of my cabs.....

Yeah that's a bit odd, surely if it was a widescreen crt it'd be a W86? Unless early Videocolor widescreen crts weren't labelled as such? Also, if I remember correctly 33" is A79 (or A78). I have a Ridge Racer deluxe with a Polo 33" which has an A78 or A79 in it I think. Mind you, i've also got a Beko 33" TV and I think that's got an A80 crt in it. The fact that the above crt has got 13X01 on the end of the code probably means it's a normal 50hz type yoke (not 100hz). If it was 100hz you could possibly have run a 34" Polostar chassis on it. :)

not able to get much info as the seller don't know much about it, but according to him it was part of a cabinet like this, which had a "captain commando" pcb in it.....not realy sure what cab that might be but

That cab was made by Rimini Games and is called "sedicinoni" which means 16:9 in Italian. I think it can be safely concluded that despite the initial A in the type number, the tube is indeed a widescreen one identical to a W86. This also explains the absence of 4:3 TVs of this size.

ahh, ok, guess this screen then isn't of much use in a general jamma cab then.

What type of games would be in use on these, I would think they are 16:9 games then ?
