How we doing now John? thought I'd check in and see how your feeling :)

I see your post for Star wars bits, If I had monitor and other bits I'd probably been tempted but so much other stuff to do anyway
Thanks for asking! I’m Definitely doing better, still in quite a bit of pain and discomfort, but I’m only 6 weeks post surgery and that plus the infection wiped me out so the cardiologist said it would be at least another 4-6 weeks before I’m near back to normal. Been doing a bit of walking, which is getting easier. I’ve lost 4 stone which is great haha but i do feel quite frail. Wont be forever though :).

Yea I was going to keep the Star Wars bits as spares, but I’ve gone onto statutory sick pay with work so going through some things I might get some money for as I don’t want to have to rush back to work if I’m not right. Ive got a couple of Jamma machines, a few pcb’s and another couple of cabs Im deciding on plus I’ve got quite a few bits of computer stuff, an Amiga 4000, X6800 pro and a pile of games - just need to square it with my conscience lol

That's good to hear, blimey 4 stone, the good lady lost a load of weight the other year, she was over weight before (I'll get slapped lol) but she lost too much she looked ill, soon put some back on though and looked much better for it. Just lots of walking will keep you fit and slim, auntie and uncle did that and lost loads of weight.

Things would be so much easier if you didn't have to worry about money, brothers been same since breaking his foot, now he keeps hurting his back so had to dig into savings. as hard as it is to let somethings go, when it comes to your health it's probably easier decision.
Be kinda good if another member maybe bought some bits like the star wars for spares like you were keeping but doesn't need them pers se and would be happy to sell them back to you when in better situation if you regret selling, just a thought. Nice if you can help people out, need to look after each other sometimes and be better than money sat in bank account doing not much

So it’s 3 months today since I had my bypass operation, can’t believe how quick it’s gone. The last few months have been a stinker but I’m in much better condition than I was before and glad it got sorted before it got a lot worse. I’m doing a cardiac rehab programme and feeling so much better for it and finally feel like things are getting back to normal (unfortunately my pass for not doing the washing or emptying the dishwasher has now expired!).

I hope no one here has to go through it, but If you do, please feel free to reach out and I’m more than happy to chat about what to expect!

On a positive note I finished the lethal enforcers cab last week and now working on an Area 51 cab. Martin turned up today too with a turtles and donkey Kong cab that need a little work so that’s plenty to get my teeth back into over Xmas and I’m definitely feeling that buzz again!

Cheers All!

Good to hear you getting your enthusiasm back …. and tackling a few jobs . Just still go steady .. as said earlier I am over 4 years in recovery …

I have a couple of old mates been 20 years or more now since heart ops so feel quite confident that it’s not too likely I will get any repeat of the original chest pain , but because I hate winter (SAD) I get a bit breathless when I do something a bit strenuous. As we still have an open fire coal, logs, and ashes removal is a daily task anyway … and if we get a log delivery it takes all day or 2 to barrow them up the garden to the store shed and odd ones still need a chop down with a long axe.

I don’t walk much otherwise so when that’s required I want to sit and rest more often.
Roll on spring as nicer weather gets me inspired. Not least we do enjoy our garden.
There’s nothing like a repair/restoration project to keep active and get body and mind back to pre-op normality. Keep well !
