Hi,
Im Jon from up sunny Cumbria.
Originally hailing from Blackpool I grew up in arcades and over the last 3 years have been collecting/repairing/loving my own games.
Also noticed there are a few posts regarding the Boardmaster 4k on here. Its my new favorite thing at the moment so very interested in keeping it up and running.

Liking the look of this forum, seems a lot friendlier than some others out there.
Thanks

Hi Jon and welcome along. Hehe we should start a BM 4000 registry, lot of members here have one (or want one). It's just one tool in the arsenal but a very useful one :)

Welcome on board - and thanks very much for scanning the BM4K operators manual. I'm sure most of the owners around here will be very grateful for that

No way! I've got a mainly-complete comments box on your site just waiting for me to click Submit to suggest you come and have a look at ukvac

. Quite a coincidence.

Thank you very much for scanning the manuals (saves me having to find my paper copies!) and for all the other really interesting work on your site.

Anyway, welcome to ukvac and I hope you enjoy it here.

cheers

Thanks for the welcome.
With regards to the bm4k manual, I was amazed it couldn't be found online anywhere. At one point I wish I didn't bother as I had to put its plastic ring binder thingy back together by hand, PITA!
Hopefully some kind of info repository can be formed for this amazing bit of kit.
Also like to say a huge thanks to Macro. Nice guy and been a lot of help to me.

I'm loving the usefulness of the bm4k but sometimes think it takes the "art" out of board repairs, then I think about the frustration I used to feel and all is well.

I have quite a few boards, most are capcom and I do like my cps2 stuff but have recently got into my shoot em ups. The first game I ever bought was x multiply and I've still got it. Also loving border down on the Naomi.

The only game I'm on the look out for is Air Buster. I've got a couple of knackered boards both with a dead pal ic. I first played it in the arcade and then bought it on the mega drive and loved both. I know a few other guys with knackered pals too so maybe I can get them up and running as well.
