Hi from Birmingham.

I didn't get much time on arcades in the 80s/90s, my Mum was anti-arcade. I have a few arcade memories of playing Salamander at a youth hostel and the sit in Star Wars arcade with wireframe 3d graphics likely at Weston-super-Mare :)

Gaming wise I did get a BBC, Amiga 500, Amiga 1200 + 030 etc and a PS1 back in the back. Then in 2020 I got in MiSTer and a CRT. Of all the awesome cores the Neo Geo core has imprinted :)

Ooohh ! An “anti-arcade mum” I think I have been confronted by one or two of those…. Banging ferociously on the change kiosk glass …. Especially when a key ring or fridge magnet went down the side lost hole after moving it to the edge …
Worst ones tho have to be the ones who force their crying child into or on a kiddie ride and the kid is panic stricken… then they insert the coin only for the kid to jump off and they demand a Spanish Inquisition into ride safety …. Until a younger baby goes on the same ride laughing and wanting more!!!!
Sometimes it’s aye!!!! You !!!! My little boy just put a 20p in the 2p pusher ????? And it disappeared ???
Have I met your mum ?????

More likely she tried to never step foot in one! wasn't her cup of tea put it that way lol. I seem to recall she thought they were a waste of money and too noisy. My Dad on the other hand liked em but mostly the 2p pusher machines :)
