Hi there everyone!

I've frequently visited this Forum but more as a reader. However, after another visit to an amazing Arcade, I found myself coming back here, so signed up and wanted to chat.

I've adored Videogames since I was a kid, with my first machines being a SEGA Master System II and a 386 PC. From there, I developed a deep love of games, not just playing them but making them; Where I used to make levels in Doom and Quake. In my late teens, I dropped out of College for a Games Testing role and made the Videogames industry my career for over 2 decades, working in Testing, Level Design and then Programming. Been out of the games industry for awhile now, working in software (More reliable and better paid!) but my love of games has never waned.

I recently came back from a week away with my Brother at Arcade Club Bury and Blackpool (Which I wrote about here) revitalising my love for Arcades. I picked up a new Arcade Stick to get some of that feeling at home, it won't quite replicate the feeling of sitting at an Astro City cabinet, but one can but dream... Maybe one day!

Anyway, nice to meet you all and hope to be chatting more as the weeks roll on.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I was drinking a frozen Strawberry Daiquiri @TheDaddy at the time! Well, they offered Cocktails at Arcade Club so felt it was only right to sample! :ROFLMAO:

Welcome mate. I'd love a week at arcade club!

You totally should!

Me and my Brother went up for 1 day in 2024, taking 3 days off work as the travel bookended it. We loved it so much, we went up for 2 full days in 2025, culminating in this year; 5 days off work and 3 full days at both venues. It was epic.

That is (as the kids say) sick. I'll be up there in December for my birthday for sure.

Welcome Wools
A fantastic introduction to the forum👍
You are in a safe place here.

Btw Are you from Wool?

Thank you!

I love Dorset but wasn't born there, I was born down South in Surrey. Wools is a long held username of mine, dating back to the Quake, Duke Nukem 3D and Age of Empires LAN days, where I adopted a nickname friends christened me with. A very uncreative shortening of my Surname. 😅

Me Neither.
Although Dorset is decent I agree.

Never played Age of Empires but Duke Nukem3D and Redneck Rampage we're my fave at that time.

Good job on keeping a username for that long too 👍
