Hi everyone,
I have a custom arcade cabinet powered by a docked Steam Deck, and I’m looking for a local arcade or emulation enthusiast who understands Steam Input / SteamOS architecture to help me map the software configuration.
The cabinet hardware is 100% complete and working fine, just received it this week. It uses twin DragonRise USB arcade encoders with a standard 6-button layout for each player.
However, I am really struggling to get the Steam Input software configured so that it acts as a seamless, "set-it-and-forget-it" master layout across my native Steam library (currently focusing on games like NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom 3).
Ideally, I am looking for a face-to-face fix where someone can visit my home in East Grinstead. I’d love to meet up, discuss the cabinet architecture, and get some help setting up a universal template.
Specifically, I need help configuring:
If you are local to West Sussex/Surrey and fancy helping a fellow builder out, please drop me a reply or a PM.
Thanks a lot
Jamie

Specifically, I need help configuring:
- Joystick Mapping: Mapping the physical joysticks to act as the Left Analogue Stick so sports and modern arcade games register movement natively.
- 6-Button Trigger Layout: Mapping the two far-right action buttons as Left Trigger (LT) and Right Trigger (RT) instead of bumpers, so functions like Turbo/Sprint work properly.
- Advanced Shortcuts: Mapping the physical cabinet 'PAUSE' button to act as the Steam Guide button overlay, and setting up Long Press functions (Activators) for secondary shortcuts.
- Player 2 Alignment: Ensuring Player 1 and Player 2 configurations mirror each other perfectly without Steam shifting the inputs around on boot.

Thanks a lot
