Hi

I'm Dan from Bournemouth. I always loved going to the arcade (Boscombe pier) when I was younger (I'm now 36) and after moving house a few years ago I was able to have room to house a few arcade machines and attempt to bring the memories back! Since that time I've found it is more about spending time fixing than playing, at least for me as I am not very technically minded and so problems take a while to sort!

I only found out about this forum the other day and I am joining as I love all things to do with coin-ops and retro games. As well as video games I have also recently taken an interest in pinball, having attended a league meet and both South Coast Slams (which were brilliant). I'm hoping that if funds allow (and the wife allows!) that I can soon purchase my first pinball machine.

Hi Dan

I'm from Bournemouth area too (actually just moved to Wimborne, but near enough), so think I must be the other Dan being referred to! I used to spend a lot of time as a kid in the arcade
at Bournemouth pier, and also playing Road Blasters and Out Run at
the BIC. As I got older I mostly played Hard Drivin and Race Drivin up at Tower Park, and also a helicopter sim I can't remember the name of.

Welcome along anyway, I've only just joined myself and was as chuffed as
you to find this forum of like-minded people, who are also extremely
knowledgeable and helpful. I'm still looking for my first machine too,
currently just got a new, empty garage which is crying out to be filled
with arcade & pinball loveliness

. Got a couple of 'wanteds' on my shortlist though, so am hunting around for those at the moment.

I wanted to go to the Slam last weekend, but was busy packing for house move unfortunately. Definitely up for the next one though.
