Yay,

My name is HÃ¥kon, I'm 36 and I live in Oslo with my girlfriend and our two small boys. I am the current owner of three generic cabinets - one MAME, one JAMMA (Compugame) and one soon-to-be JAMMA (Model Racing Mini Cabinet) - and I hope that 2011 will be the year that I get my first dedicated cab. Norway is a wasteland when it comes to arcades, but I have been getting my community kicks over at JAMMA+, so it's all good.

This place looks nice too! Looking forward to hanging out with you guys!

Cheers,

Hi Arch (I shan't try and write your other name

)

Welcome to ukvac! I hope you like it here. What are you looking at for your first dedicated cab?

Hi Tim,
My real name is easy enough, but your board keeps replacing the dotted a with Yen symbols and whatnot.

As for first dedicated: good question. I came very close to buying an Escape From The Planet Of The Robot Monsters some weeks ago, but I chickened out partially because even though being JAMMA, the Hall joysticks were not very usable with other games.

And I guess that says a bit about my criteria. I want a dedicated JAMMA game where it is easy to change boards if I want to. This is mainly because I only have room for one more cab in my "office". Small flat, gf and all that jazz you know. It does not have to be the rarest of games, but the cab has to be ship shape and cool enough to make up a part of the furniture. I have been looking into the possibility of importing a Double Dragon II from the US with this in mind. Not the best of games, I know, but the cab seems to be a good JAMMA allrounder with front hatch. And they are not that expensive either. Of course, I wouldn't pass on any of the classics like Pac-Man, DK or Galaga, but first I have to win the lottery.

Hey Arch, welcome dude!

What's happening with the cool little red cab from Bridlington (just up the road from me

)?

Post up some pics of that on here. P-man (Andy's Arcade) might have some more info on it for you.

Hey Frothmeister! Nice to see a familiar face!

Well, by request, here it is. Just imagine what sort of road trip this cab has been on. From Bridlington, UK to Oslo, Norway, and not without getting a dent and a spot of rust along the way either.

I did manage to find a bit of info on it. The full name is Flexigame/Model Racing Mini Cabinet. It's most likely a generic cab of Italian make by game publishers Model Racing, but the one I have has been operated in the UK under the name of Flexigame licenced by r.d.k – whatever that is. Bridlington comes into the picture because of the torn off sticker on the bezel. Not only did they tear off the sticker, they had to take the bottom part of the bezel as well. Jaisis. Some people. Anyway, not much info about it online, but I managed to find the service manual on what I just came to realize is Andy's/P-man's site. If P-man or anybody else in here knows some more about it, I would be very happy to know.

[font="Calibri, sans-serif"]EDIT: Aaand I just realized that the manual is not on P-man's site. It's on the German Andy's site. Sorry about the mixup.

I have a good plan for making this cab shine again pretty soon. Will keep you posted on that.
