I’m trying to sort out a xp mame

It’s an old mame but I like it

Still use DOS in mine. And FEMAME.

I have a dos prompt in their with all the files folders.

I’m happy with this xp mame ..
Just about to make a spinner from an old roller ball mouse for some Arkanoid ,

Also I have all the usual suspects console emu on it ,
Maximus front end and mala ,

I mame that runs great I cannot configure controls because I cannot scroll up or down in the tab in game menus to set controlls !

But snes
Mega drive
Pc engine
N64
Jaguar
Etc.. all fine

ui up & ui down are set to
Joy 1 y axis up
Joy 1 y axis down ?

Só I need a x y joystick Thats recognised ?

Why it only allows it when I’m in front end only ? I do not know …
