Lighting cable wiring.

Just replacing some lights at home and rather than terminal block using wago 221's compact.

Out of interest on new plugs and new light wires the end of the cables are always nicely crimped with a small metal bit.

I am shortening the cable from the light , so cutting that off , whjich leaves the stranded wire.

Any idea where to get those REALLY small end crimps from as prefer that to stranded wire. Did a quick Google and not found any .

Be nice not to have the strands.

Yes looks like that is the professional version of what I need !. Bit odd to see from the video the cable diameter, do I assume that is ok for your arcade cabinet wires. I think lighting wire is about 1.5mm

Basically the normal ceiling pendants come with a nice ends like in pic below. I am having to trim that off, as the cable length on new lights is ridicously long , and it goes to the wire strands , I prefer all nicely crimped.

I am using Wago 221's to attach to the house lighting circuit, overkill I know !!

So I think what you suggest would do the job, as in put on end of wires and push into my wago.

I hate terminal block and have about 40 Wago variants !

I think I would just tin the ends with solder.

Thats a good shout , I cant do that from the ones in the roof, but they are thick wire anyhow, so I could solder the ones attached to light.

I know its a bit anal but hate thin wires, I must admit the 221's hold them well. Been a lot easier to replace some tricky lights above your head , than trying to screw driver a terminal block.

The cables on light fittings will be either 0.5 or 0.75, your house wiring will be 1.0 or 1.5 millimetres.

Wago’s are now standard in house wiring and industry a massive improvement on the old Black or White Tenby screw connectors. Electricians are over the moon with Wago’s.
